Some would know I got into my dream job last year only to be made redundant with a bunch of colleagues when the MaraWay was unceremoniously shutdown.
It’s wonderful then that out of that train wreck came the positive of some enduring connections with awesome people.
Sara is definitely one of those! We had a coffee catch up this morning at Blackbird with her trusty little sidekick. Discussed all things communications amongst many topics 😊

Support local! if you haven't been able join the volunteer crews armed with mops and buckets this is definitely one way you can help. These guys have done it a bit tough this year and then also had to shut up shop in what would be the absolute best time to be open.

As we're battening down the hatches waiting for Cyclone Jasper 🌊💦💨 to do his thing I thought I'd get cracking before possible offlinehood commences. Here's the latest listing for wordworx creations- the Lemonade series: so-called because I was recently made redundant and when life gives you lemons... 🍋
I had a look around the house and got creative! 🍹 Using a modified coil method, old recharging cables and those little twisty things you get with plastic freezer bags - (of which I have approximately 1 million) and here is the result!

So it's been quiet on the wordworx front because I had a fulltime role as Communications Manager for the social enterprise, The MaraWay, which I was super excited and passionate about. But then entirely unexpectantly, they closed the community hub and a bunch of us were made redundant. Wonderful timing- just before Christmas 🤨
After reeling from the community and personal impact of this, I threw myself back into the wordworx flow and of course I have just launched the wordworx creations side hustle (see previous post).
So this is just to give an update and put it out there that I'm in no way redundant but buzzing with creative zeal! and I'm back in the saddle for business comms and marketing projects and work. Feel free to share my contact with anyone you know who might be looking for some assistance with content, design or bigger comms strategy stuff 🤲

It's always amazing to see behind the scenes/"the making of" for movies- it doesn't take from the magic but actually adds to it! Those aha "so that's how they do it" moments are magical in themselves. So exciting to see the film scene in Cairns set to expand so exponentially with the development of the Bunnings space announced in October last year. Development is set to start right about now with productions scheduled for next year!
