Monterrey Records was born in 2007 in Seville, Spain, attempting to release some of the best local bands work’s. So our earliest releases were The Del Shapiros 7” debut, and the first LP of a great indie band called Pony Bravo. One year later, we became aware this was never going to be a real business, we dissociated definitely from the indie scene and we started to do just we wanted to do: garage
music and vinyl discs. In the next two years Monterrey put out some glorious releases like the essential In It With… The Del Shapiros, or the most-wanted Frowning Clouds EP debut. We also started to work as promoters in the Andalusian garage scene: we managed a good bunch of parties, gigs and a summer fest called Do The Hala Hala that we keep on managing every year. Times of change came in 2010. A sort of inner crisis in addition with legal problems with the trademark, forced us to take off to Outer Space and reborn as SATURNO RECORDS. The first releases coming from the 30 moons planet was a real cosmic rays burst: The Frowning Cloud’s first LP Listen Closelier, and the The Hysterian’s Walking Out debut. Youth, nerve and freshness for a new era. Watching over the good music. Preserving the garage, beat, rhythm & blues, rock & roll and other crazy rhythms from today for the joy of the future generations. If you have a garage band and you know how to play Louie Louie already, maybe you’re interested in get in touch with us. Best regards from Saturno to the whole Galaxy. Nacho & Darío.
