Air Seychelles ramps up operations for Israeli market over peak season
Air Seychelles, the Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline, is gearing up for an increase in demand from the Tel Aviv market due to the upcoming Israeli holidays.
The Sukkot celebrations marks the second largest holiday period in Israel after Passover. To better serve the route and accommodate the increase in passengers, Air Seychelles will be operating over 20 flights on the route between Thursday 21 September and Friday 06 October.
The normal twice weekly commercial flights will increase to five per week, and in addition there are several charters from Tel Aviv to the Maldives and Mauritius also operating.
Charles Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Seychelles explains “Israel remains an important market for Seychelles, with over 10,000 Israelis visiting the destination so far this year. We anticipate carrying over 2,300 passengers to and from Seychelles during this period, plus over 1,100 passengers to the Maldives & Mauritius. This year we have even chartered additional aircraft to help us meet the strong demand.”
To date, the national carrier has operated a total of 148 flights on the Seychelles-Tel Aviv route, carrying over 10,000 passengers. The airline launched non-stop flights between Tel Aviv, the most populous city in Israel and the archipelagic islands of the Seychelles in November of 2019 and serves the city with twice-weekly flights in normal periods with additional flights at peak season.
The forecast for the rest of 2023 remains strong despite the challenging economic environment being experienced in the region.
