Best news ever!!! Loved Dead To Me and glad that Netflix has renewed the dark comedy for a second season. Like the first, Season 2 will consist of ten episodes. Show creator Liz Feldman made the announcement on Monday during an Emmy FYC-themed event.

Dead To Me stars Christina Applegate as a tightly wound widow who forms an unlikely friendship with a free-spirited Linda Cardellini who has a shocking secret. I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t watched yet, but it’s pretty obvious what the secret is halfway during episode one.

James Marsden also stars in the series executive produced by Liz Feldman, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Jessica Elbaum.

She’s the baddest bitch around and she’s only getting more so. Lizzo is primed to rule this summer with her new album, Cuz I Love You, which arrives this week. Everything she’s shared so far has been perfection.

The 30-year-old rapper-singer gives the infectious lead single “Juice” new life by enlisting some familiar faces. With assistance from World of Wonder, she gathered RuPaul’s Drag Race alums A’keria Davenport, Detox, Asia O’Hara, Mariah Balenciaga, Morgan McMichaels, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Soju, Sonique and Mayhem Miller to make cameos in an alternate clip for the bouncy bop.

Bah humbug. A trio of shows received bags of coal in their stockings ahead of Christmas. All three were given the axe.

The peacock network was especially cruel. NBC pulled the plug on not one, but two shows. First came Midnight, Texas. The series, based on the books by author Charlaine Harris (True Blood), did well in its first season, becoming the highest-rated drama series of the summer. However, it didn’t fare well when it aired this fall. Ergo the cancellation. It’s season finale next Friday will be its last.

Marlon also experienced a similar fate. The NBC comedy also dropped during its second season, from 1.5 in the adults 18-49 age demo and 5.6 million total viewers to 0.8 in the demo and 3 million total viewers. No big surprise NBC decided not to move forward.

Over on SyFy, the news wasn’t great either for Z Nation. Producers announced on Twitter that the show’s fifth season would be its last. “We wanted to tell you face to face … that we were not renewed for Season 6,” Latt said. “This is not the end of anything. This is just the beginning of a lot of things.”

As you can infer from the Tweet, there is some good news for fans of the show. A Z Nation prequel series has been ordered by Netflix.

Countless celebrities have visited The Late Late Show, but only one has taught James Corden love, patience and pain. And that person is Jeff Goldblum.

Corden sings the 66-year-old actor’s praises in a hilarious parody in the style of Ariana Grande’s record-breaking “Thank U, Next’ music video. It’s absolutely perfect.

“First saw him in The Fly, but his face was grotesque. Then he won independence from an alien mess,” the Late Late Show host begins. “And In Thor: Ragnarok, his performance was classic, but who could forget the hot doctor, that he played in Jurassic.”

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is one of my favorite annual telecasts I look forward to. There’s something about leggy Amazonian-like women strutting their stuff down the runway that really fascinates me. With that being said, for once, I actually wish the musical performers were the ones in their skivvies instead flaunting their assets. This year’s lineup of performers are on fire.

Can we all keep our fingers crossed that Shawn Mendes is shirtless when he takes to the stage. That goes double for the sexy duo of The Chainsmokers. Both Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall clearly work on their fitness. Also booked to perform at this year’s glittery extravaganza are Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Halsey, Kelsea Ballerini and The Struts.

Expected to walk pass them as they perform are Angels Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Elsa Hosk, Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell and Taylor Hill. After missing last year, supermodels Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner return to the show.

After last year’s show in China which provided plenty of behind-the-scenes headaches including visas being denied for Katy Perry and Gigi Hadid, the show returns back to American soil. This year’s fashion show tapes next week in New York but will air on December 2 on ABC.... that’s right show switched from CBS!

M. Night Shyamalan could’ve easily done a paint-by-numbers sequel for his monster hit Split. Instead, the 48-year-old director is bringing the narratives of two of his blockbusters (Split and Unbreakable) for one explosive comic book thriller titled Glass. An ambitious feat indeed.

Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson reprise their roles of David Dunn and Elijah Price from 2000’s Unbreakable. They join James McAvoy who returns to play Kevin Wendell Crumb and all his multiple identities.

Also booking return gigs are Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke- the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast, Unbreakable’s Spencer Treat Clark as Dunn’s son and Charlayne Woodard as Price’s mother. New to the fold is American Horror Story mainstay Sarah Paulson who portrays a psychiatrist who specializes in treating people who believe they’re superheroes.

Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men. Glass arrives January 18, 2019.

The 2018-2019 television season is off to a great start for NBC. A day after scoring stellar numbers for the premiere of Manifest, the peacock network successfully launched another new show. New Amsterdam premiered with 8.4 million and a 1.9 rating, giving NBC its best Tuesday demo number in two years.

Elsewhere on the network, The Voice was up a tenth from its Monday premiere to 9.8 mil/2.1. This Is Us kicked off its third season with 10.4 mil/2.9, easily dominating the night. The season premiere was on par with the S2 finale, but slightly down form the S2 average.

Meanwhile over at CBS, the premiere of FBI maintained most of its NCIS lead-in, raking in 10.08 mil/1.3. It bested the premiere of Magnum PI from the night before. NCIS returned two tenths below (1.4) from its premiere last year while NCIS: New Orleans tied its last year’s premiere and S4 average.

The revamped Lethal Weapon and sophomore season of The Gifted didn’t fare so well on FOX. Both shows were down from their previous 1.0 season averages.

ABC continued its losing streak with another slow night of Dancing With The Stars. The Tuesday show fell from both its Monday night premiere and Tuesday premiere last fall. Looks like it might be time to pack up the mirrorball.

OMFG!!! I think I just peed my pants a little. Any fan of American Horror Story will have the same reaction as well after seeing this epic promo for the upcoming season.

FX just shared footage from the highly-anticipated “Murder House” and “Coven” crossover season aka “Apocalypse.” It begins with Leslie Grossman, Evan Peters and newbie to the franchise, Joan Collins, panicking as their plane goes down. I honestly don’t want to describe more than that because I want to let you experience the euphoria yourself.

Also featured in the promo are Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Dylan McDermott, Emma Roberts, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy and Cody Fern. The latter from The Assassination of Versace: American Crime Story makes his debut as the grownup Michael Langdon who’s being dubbed as The Antichrist.

With Las Vegas' neon-lit landscape as the backdrop, model Amanda Murphy and actress Sarah Paulson mysteriously move through Belgian photographer W***y Vanderperre's short film for Prada, Neon Dream. Filmed as a part of the brand's fall 2018 campaign, the movie celebrates Vegas iconography, from showgirls and neon billboards to convertibles and theaters draped in red velvet.
While Murphy plays a slightly sinister, yet wistful lead character, Paulson takes on multiple roles including Marilyn Monroe, a robotic valet, and a roller-skating bartender. Paulson's shapeshifting underscores Prada's ongoing fascination with the different roles women play in their lives and how they embrace these through fashion. Elsewhere, RuPaul's Drag Race winner Violet Chachki guest stars as a chorus line starlet and the initial Marilyn Monroe lookalike.

Given its premise, naturally Alex Strangelove is already drawing comparisons to Greg Berlanti’s hit film Love, Simon. Both films are in the vein of a classic John Hughes flick and feature a gay teen protagonist. This one though, follows the ultimate teen comedy quest… how to lose your virginity.

High school senior Alex Truelove (Daniel Doheny) has it all – the grades, the girlfriend (Madeline Weinstein), and the motley crew of hilarious friends. Everything is smooth sailing until Alex shares that he’s decided to part ways with his virginity – and meets Elliott (Antonio Marziale), a sweet and confident gay boy who isn’t shy about his instant crush on Alex…who may or may not feel the same. Rocketed into a endearing and amusing journey of sexual and self-exploration, Alex ultimately learns that like so much of growing up, love can be confusing. And that’s okay.

Alex Strangelove had its world premiere at the San Francisco International Film Festival back in April. Netflix scooped up the rights and will make it available to stream on June 8.

Next week, the Big 5 broadcast networks descend to New York City to unveil their schedules for the 2018-2019 television season. Ahead of that, a few on-the-bubble shows have learned their fates. In this case, it was good news all around.

FOX decided it wanted another round of its freshman medical drama, The Resident. The Matt Czuchry and Emily VanCamp series received a Season 2 renewal. On average, it’s attracting more than 10 million multi-platform viewers per episode, and is improving its year-ago time period by +31% in the key Adults 18-49 demographic.

Last month, The CW revealed the fates for ten series. Several shows, however, like The 100, Life Sentence, iZombie and Valor were still left in limbo. One of those shows just jumped over to the renewal column. Just two weeks into The 100’s fifth season, the sci-fi drama has been renewed for a sixth. Lucy Hale’s first post Pretty Little Liars vehicle Life Sentence received the dreaded axe. Not a surprise given its anemic 500,000 total viewers and 0.15 demo rating. And Valor, starring Matt Barr and Christina Ochoa as co-pilots caught up in an international conspiracy, also failed to secure a Season 2 renewal. Barr shouldn’t be too bummed. He’s the lead in one of the network’s pilot, Skinny Dip.

Over at NBC, midseason drama Good Girls will live to see another day. The series starring Christina Hendricks, Retta and Mae Whitman just concluded its 10-episode freshman run last month with a cliffhanger. At least now, viewers will have some closure. It’s the peacock network’s first freshman series, not including the Will & Grace revival, to receive a Season 2 renewal as well as A.P. Bio

Netflix was also in a giving mood. Santa Clarita Diet received a Season 3 renewal. The horror-comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant wil return in 2019 with ten more episodes.

The CW was originally developing the Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot to go hand in hand with Riverdale. However, the project moved over to Netflix with a two-season order. It’s set to debut later this year.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to social media to share the first look at the series. Kiernan Shipka and Ross Lynch, who are playing Sabrina Spellman and Harvey Kinkle in the series, are shown adorably holding hands in the pic. Check out the photo below.

In addition to Shipka and Lynch, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stars Lucy Davis as Hilda Spellman, Miranda Otto as Zelda Spellman, Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina’s best friend Rosalind Walker, Michelle Gomez as Sabrina’s high school mentor Mary Wardell, Chance Perdomo as Sabrina’s cousin Ambrose, and Richard Coyle as Father Blackwood.

Back in the late 1990s, Walt Disney Pictures was planning a Carmen Sandiego film with Sandra Bullock set to play the titular character. However, that never came to fruition. Another live-action movie was planned in 2012 but with Jennifer Lopez attached this time. That also got derailed. It appears another attempt at bringing the iconic character to life is in the works.

Deadline reports Netflix has snagged the film rights to Carmen Sandiego. Gina Rodriguez is set to play the fictional thieving villain in the live-action film. Rodriguez will also produce it through her I Can and I Will production company, alongside Kevin Misher and Caroline Fraser.

This won’t be the only time the 33-year-old actress will portray Carmen. She’s also set to voice the character in an original animated series also airing on Netflix. It’s set to premiere in 2019.

A few years back, CBS tried to reboot the bewitching Aaron Spelling series, but nothing came to fruition. The CW then stepped in January 2017 with plans of their own to resurrect Charmed. However, just a couple months later the network announced it was delaying the project because the draft from Jane the Virgin writers Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin “didn’t come in the way the network had hoped.” I was beginning to think there was actually a curse on Charmed. Now comes word, another attempt is in the works.

The CW revealed the description for the new incarnation of the series: “This fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches. Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.”

The network also revealed that its original plans to set the series in the past has been nixed. It was previously supposed to serve as a prequel to The WB original and set in the 1970s. Instead, the new plan is to have it set in present day. By doing this, it gives the opportunity for any of the original cast members (Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano, Holly-Marie Combs and Rose McGowan) to pop up.

Hopefully this time around the reboot will happen and get that green light!!

‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’ Netflix Reboot Finds Its Leading Lady

Billed as a companion series to Riverdale, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a dark coming-of-age story that finds the teenage witch wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.

The Sabrina The Teenage Witch reboot was originally developed for The CW, but Netflix scooped it up and gave it a two-season order. The project just found its leading lady. Mad Men alum Kiernan Shipka has snagged the coveted role. She was most recently seen in Feud: Bette vs Joan.

“We’re all such huge fans of Kiernan’s work that when we started talking about who this new incarnation of Sabrina could be, her name was on everyone’s wish list,” executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa says. “This is a darker, more macabre version of Sabrina, and we’re incredibly excited for people to see Kiernan make this iconic character her own.”

I think the 18-year-old actress is absolutely perfect for the role. She’s definitely Sabrina but with an edge. Inspired casting indeed.

The spellbinding series traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft. It’s being touted as Rosemary’s Baby meets The Exorcist. This origins story is worlds away from the campy ABC sitcom starring Melissa Joan Hart in the 90s.

Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is writing the story based on the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic. Lee Toland Krieger will direct.

The 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show marks the first time the lingerie brand is holding its annual glittery extravaganza in Shanghai, China. Based on recent headaches for production, I bet it’s the last. At least for the foreseeable future. Two marquee names have been reportedly denied visas to enter the country.

Katy Perry, who was scheduled to perform, had to cancel last minute due to the legal obstacle. Government officials apparently took issue with a dress Perry wore during a 2015 performance in Taipei, according to Page Six. Her yellow gown was adorned with two sunflowers. The flower is a symbol for a group of anti-China protesters.

Meanwhile, Gigi Hadid fell victim to the hashtag . Earlier this year, the leggy blonde was criticized for an Instagram post where she allegedly mocked Asian facial features. She squinted her eyes to imitate Buddha’s face on a cookie that she was holding up.

This development comes just days after reports four models, who were supposed to walk in the show, were also denied Chinese visas. Interestingly, all four women are from Russia and Ukraine. Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharipova from the former and Dasha Khlystun from the latter. No word on exactly why they were denied, but some speculate it had something to do with a 14-year-old Russian model dying at Shanghai Fashion Week.

Dynasty isn’t exactly breaking records, but it’s done enough for CW executives. The network ordered an additional nine episodes, bringing the soap opera’s Season 1 order to a full 22 episodes.

The reboot premiered to only 1.3 million viewers and a 0.3 in the 18-49 demo. Last week’s episode dipped even further, attracting 740,000 viewers and an anemic 0.2 rating. The network’s other freshman series, Valor, is actually faring better than Dynasty. However, the military drama hasn’t received the back nine order yet, nor does it look like it will.

Why did Dynasty get the greenlight for more episodes? Two words… ownership and Netflix. The CW has complete ownership over the show and a profitable deal with the streaming service that was put in place prior to its premiere. I wouldn’t be surprised if the new Carrington clan gets renewed for a sophomore season come springtime.

Produced by Josh Schwartz, Sallie Patrick and Stephanie Savage, the series centers on two of the wealthiest families in America, as they feud over the control of their fortunes and children. The reboot features a much more diverse cast than the original 80s soap. Cristal is now Hispanic, while both chauffeur Michael Culhane and the Colby family are African-Americans. Sammy Jo, who was played by Heather Locklear in the original, is now a gay Hispanic man.

Are you watching the revival? I am but it hasn’t become guilty pleasure viewing yet. Producers need to bring Alexis stat. Question is, who can step in and do as fantastic of a job as Joan Collins. Probably no one, but it’s worth a try...

Jeffrey Dahmer murdered 17 men and boys in the Midwest United States between 1978 and 1991 before being captured and incarcerated. He would become one of America’s most infamous serial killers. My Friend Dahmer is the story before that story. It’s based on Derf Backderf’s critically acclaimed 2012 graphic novel of the same name and Meyers’s own 2014 Black List script.

Disney Channel’s Ross Lynch plays the young version of the notorious murderer. In the film, Dahmer is an awkward teenager struggling to make it through high school with a family life in ruins. He collects roadkill, fixates on a neighborhood jogger (Vincent Kartheiser), and copes with his unstable mother (Anne Heche) and well-intentioned father (Dallas Roberts). He begins to act out at school, and his goofball antics win over a group of band-nerds who form The Dahmer Fan Club, headed by Derf Backderf (Alex Wolff). But this camaraderie can’t mask his growing depravity. Approaching graduation, Jeff spirals further out of control, inching ever closer to madness.

Truth cannot be buried. In 2018, ‘The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story‘ is coming to FX and this week, the second teaser trailer for the Ryan Murphy series has been released. In this new clip, Donatella stands outside a hearse by the beach as two men remove the casket.

The American Crime Story: ‘The People v. O. J. Simpson was a huge success so there’s not doubt in my mind that this new story will also cause quite a stir on the small screen. Penelope Cruz will be playing the role of Donatella, while other notable names in the cast include Darren Criss, Ricky Martin, Finn Wittrock, and more.

When Forbes released their annual highest-paid DJs list this week, noticeably absent from this year’s group was Avicii. The 27-year-old Swedish producer, who has previously made the cut, is making sure he’s not omitted on the next list. After being on a year-plus hiatus, he returned with a surprise six-track EP titled simply, Avici.

“I’m really excited to be back with music once again, it has been a long time since I released anything and a long time since I was this excited over new music!” Avicii says in a statement. “My focus on this first EP of the album was to get a mix of new and old songs, some that fans have been asking about/waiting for mixed with brand new songs that they haven’t heard before!”

The EP features collaborations with Rita Ora, AlunaGeorge, Billy Raffoul, Vargas & Lagola and Sandro Cavazza, plus an Avicii remix of Cavazza’s “So Much Better.” They’re all great, but the Ora-assisted one is my favorite. Take a listen!!

Season 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars hasn’t been officially announced, but its renewal is a foregone conclusion. After all, Season 2 generated lots of press, the mother series is reaching new heights and RuPaul is an Emmy Awards darling. With that in mind, take the following with a grain of salt until you hear it from Mama Ru’s lips.

Twitter user claims the first episode of All-Stars S3 was shot in front of a live audience. The leaked list includes queens as early as Season 2’s Morgan McMichaels to most recently with Aja who competed last season.

If you’re in the camp that believes the list is bogus, look on Reddit for speculation on why the list could be valid.

Personally, I don’t know what to believe. The list seems plausible given all the blocked out gig dates for the queens. However, Buzzfeed compiled a list of their own back in July using the same method of looking at the drag queen’s calendars. Their list has a few crossovers with the one above but also with a few other names. So what do you think?

“Sua Cara” is lifted off their Know No Better EP released in June. It’s arguably the hottest track off the set and my personal favorite. I’m glad Major Lazer gave it the promotional push it deserves with a killer music video. The middle eastern and Latin-influenced beats are hypnotic.

Brazilian superstar Anitta along with international drag sensation Pabllo, who lend their vocals on the sizzling track, also appear in the clip. They seductively deliver some fierce moves in the sand dunes while Diplo and company ride ATVs around them. Bruno Ilogti, who worked with Anitta previously for her iconic “Bang” and “Paradinha” clips, directed this desert-set visual.

When you have a song titled “Boys,” it’s only fitting the accompanying visual be jam-packed with boys. That’s exactly what Charli XCX did for her new offering. On behalf of everyone, thanks for being so literal 🙂

“Boys” is a breezy electro-pop number off her forthcoming third studio album. The 24-year-old English musician sings about how daydreaming about boys is affecting her life. “I’m sorry that I missed your party,” she laments. “I wish I had a better excuse, like ‘I had to trash a hotel lobby’/ But I was busy thinking ’bout boys/ I was busy dreaming ’bout boys.”

Directed by Charli XCX and Sarah McColgan, the music video is filled with male celebrity cameos. Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, Mac DeMarco, Diplo, Rostam, Wiz Khalifa, D.R.A.M., Kaytranada, Stormzy, Riz Ahmed and Swet Shop Boys, Jack Antonoff, Mark Ronson, Flume, Ty Dolla $ign, Joey Bada$$, Chromeo, Charlie Puth, Khalid, Joe Jonas and a shirtless Cameron Dallas are some of the boys who strut their stuff for the camera.

He’s always looked like a superhero and now he’ll be playing one. Derek Theler lands a lead role in Marvel’s first live-action scripted comedy. Freeform has given Marvel’s New Warriors a straight-to-series order.

Marvel’s New Warriors is the network’s second Marvel series following Cloak and Dagger. The 10-episode series follows “six young people learning to cope with their abilities in a world where bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates.” Theler will play Craig Hollis aka Mister Immortal. It marks the 30-year-old actor’s first role since Baby Daddy abruptly ended its six-season run.

Joining Theler are This Is Us actress Milana Vayntrub (Squirrel Girl), Dear White People’s Jeremy Tardy (Dwayne Taylor/Night Trasher), Calum Worthy (Robbie Baldwin/Speedball), Kate Comer (Deborah Fields/Debri) and Matthew Moy (Zack Smith/Microbe). Like Theler, Moy is also coming off a recently canceled series, Two Broke Girls.

New Warriors is set to launch on the Freeform network in 2018. Would you watch?
