The pe**te is a small, spineless cactus which contains psychoactive alkaloids, particularly mescaline. Pe**te is a Spanish word derived from the Nahuatl peyōtl, meaning "caterpillar cocoon". Pe**te is native to Mexico and southwestern Texas.

Propagating Pe**te from seeds is a really rewarding experience, lophophora seeds are easy to sprout but it require great patience in the long term as lophophora williamsii is a really slow growing cactus, and this is reason #1 why I decided to grow some, to keep my patience in check 🧘🏽‍♀️

Will take years before I get a mature pe**te plant able to flower and produces seeds 😴

The best place to grow pe**te is in a room that is about 20-25°C or 70-75°F during the day, under a light or near a window, they will get enough light. If it is colder at night it is better, as this is what happen in the desert. Pe**te will germinate with better results with a thermal shock between night and day.

What you see on the first picture is what 3 years of growth looks like, the rest of the photos is a whole 5 weeks of growth 😅

Regarding trichomes and what they tell us, Robert C. Clarke - in his book "Ma*****na Botany" - states:

When resin trichomes are near their THC concentration peak, they have a translucent colour since the plant is still producing resin in the trichome glands.
At this moment, THC production is at its peak, while CBD levels are still low and stable, since molecules quickly become THC.

Terpene - aromatic molecules - production is also at its peak, developing gorgeously aromatic floral clusters.

Many growers harvest their cannabis plants at this moment because they prefer a more clear and cerebral psychoactive effect. At this moment, THC has few sedative effects due to low CBD and CBN levels.

As for this Mandarin Cookies I noticed a 50/50 amber and cloudy trichs, give it or take, so it’s finally time for harvest!
