*BIG NEWS* MEM is thrilled to share that our friends at the Downtown Memphis are adopting our suggested minimum per-musician pay beginning in 2023!
This pic is from yesterday's announcement during their State of Downtown event at the historic New Daisy Theatre. This means that musicians getting booked by the DMC for their activations in parks and spaces throughout downtown will be compensated at $250 minimum. This is why we do the compensation advocacy work - we KNOW it can move the needle for our artists! We hope 2023 is full of posts like this one with Memphis orgs committing to our artists - this is how Memphis becomes and stays a city of choice for musicians! 🤩
