Padded Cell Studio
Hi, I’m Jelle. I record, mix and master music at my Padded Cell Studio at Popcentrum Jacobiberg in Arnhem. There isn’t really a specific genre I like to work in: among other stuff it has varied from dirty garage punk (Sheamless), dreamy folk (Christopher Walkman) to experimental surf-like music for car chasing (Dino Kids) and doomy gloomy bedroom pop (Levi Noah). Apart from these examples and other projects I have worked on, there are also 10 albums I made for my own project: Jellephant.
The most important thing in whichever part of recording music for me is figuring out what a song needs to get the very best out of it. Wether that means recording 38 layers of painfully distorted guitar for shrieking wall of heavy noise, or recording a whole album with just one person singing and playing acoustic guitar. Whatever works.
