On the Road to 1FW23, I've got some goals and I hope you will join me in this first goal- being nutritionally healthy.

I went into the conference with elevated blood pressure. I knew it wasn't my diet, it was stress. I simply didn't eat enough food for it to be my diet.

I saw Antoinette one day and we were talking about my knee, how I couldn't work out and was gaining weight. She asked me what I had eaten that day.

Nothing.

The day before?

Couldn't remember.

"Well, that'll make you gain weight too," she said. Something clicked, my why and the how came together in my friend Antoinette's gentle questions.

WHY? It's too easy to eat healthy to not eat healthy. For me, step one is just eating in the first place.

HOW? For nutrition, I already had someone I knew and trusted. Sometimes God gives you the gift, you just have to see it and accept it.

The past week and a half, I have eaten three meals a day for most of those days. I have had no Starbucks and it has been EASY.. I'm going to end the post right there becaause I know many of you are doing a praise dance right now. If you know me, you know that's a dang miracle! Me and Bucky broke up. I had to let' em go!

Is there anyone else that wants to join me on the Road to 1FW23? Food Over Pharmacy, LLC is my first stop. I've got some workouts planed with Candice Camille and I'm pursing my business and professional goals with laser focus over the next few months.

I am one of the best accountability partners I know! For real.

I sit over here coming up with ideas for people that I don't even know. Wondering if they ever did what they said, or how it can be improved. And if you are a friend... I'm oddly obsessed with your successful business. To that end, it's no wonder that three members of the 1FW community have been on my mind.

I admire how she has created a visually pleasing IG page. She doesn't compromise her message but she also is trendy with her reels and colors and branding.

Let's all pray for success on this new goal. I know she is going to crush it!

I feel like I served and was served by hosting this conference. I have been motiviated since then in many areas. There's quite a few slides here, but they are my important takeaways from the conference.

Clean... I've been trying to clean. it's going to take me a long time to declutter and reestablish systems that I let go of. But I am determined. Sydney Plant and I have been encouraging each other with this one.

My weight. I am not myself at this weight. I'm repeating old patterns. With my leg injury, I've used it as an excuse to be stagnant. But here's the thing, my leg is injured because I've been laying in the bed depressed and weakened my hamstring and patella. I'm making a plan not to do that and working with Food Over Pharmacy, LLC to get right nutritionally.

My leg... I just need to move and go ahead and go to physical therapy.

I am in purpose and on purpose. I feel like I was made for this! It feels amazing to see your own purpose flourish before your eyes!

I have been working on my business plan and branding for the other business venture I've got started. I used to feel flaky and embarrassed to have so many projects and ideas going. But guess what? I'm an idea genius. Ain't no shame in that!

Conference vendor Talinthia R Bolding turned me on to this CBD cream for my knee. Let me tell you... I can feel the difference!! For real... I'm cautiously optimistic.

So that got me thinking... wonder what would happen if I grease my scalp with this stuff?? What y'all think? LOL

This was my favorite element. I know it sounded crazy when I said that I wanted an actual clothesline in the room, but it HAD to happen.

The testimonies/dirty laundry hung on the line were powerful. I definitely have one that I found most moving. However, in general I loved seeing women take "laundry" from the basket and sit back in contemplation of what they would write.

I know I make folks uncomfortable when I'm so forward with my pain. But it fills me up sometimes. Imagine how it feels to keep it inside? It's not for everyone, but some of us needs to air it out.

This is the second reason pearls were used a symbol at the 1FW Conference.

The debris gets into the oyster and irritates it. That irritation and dirt becomes the pearl.

I don't know about you but the pearls in my life were born from severe irritation and filth. The first thing I have ever done for myself, by myself, and without regard to anyone else was writing a book and doing the podcast (goreereego.com). I'm finding things I'm good at doing. I am more creative and capable than I allowed myself to believe. I have businesses growing inside of me .shugah. I am a valuable team member and volunteer. I wouldn't have stretched myself in these ways if I wasn't irritated to the highest levels of irritation.

It doesn't feel good. Hate to say it, but I'm pretty good at creating pearls from s**t.

Have you had a chance to digest your Conference Program and Journal yet? Among the pages, I have interwoven Short Stories from Fierce Woman that I know. There are also two letters of welcome from powerfully fierce woman I admire.

One of those women is Lonita K. Baker. She is the attorney who represents the family of Breonna Taylor. The strength, the courage, the intelligence, and the compassion she has shown as a counselor is FIERCE.

Here is an excerpt from the welcome letter in your program book. Follow Ms. Baker and show some encouragement for her journey to support justice for all of us.

I tried to incorporate lots of symbols in the event space. Pearls were one of the symbols used. On every swag bag was a tag with this note on the reverse attached to a pearl charm. I included pearls in the theme for two reasons. Here is the first reason.

Sometimes you think you are just sharing but you really are casting your pearls to pigs. oink oink.

While we're sitting there telling all our bi'ness, we have to remember that it's too much for some people. And that's ok.

It's entertainment for some people. And that's ok.

Some people are happy that you're having a "situation" at all. And that's ok.

It's ok because their negative motives don't change your story and it doesn't change that you get to share it. Just learn to separate the pigs from the safe people.

I wonder if you'll hear in my voice how serious this question is for me. I wanted to write in this caption how full I am of things I'm not saying and share a few of them. I'm not saying that I feel like I've been chasing family and friends my whole life. I want to stop. I'm not saying that I don't want to be a nice person anymore. That hasn't benefited me.
