The first rule of content... First, do no harm.
Don't create content that pleases the algorithm but leaves your audience more confused. You're cheating your audience, which doesn't strike me as a great way to build trust and make sales.
You can't, of course, answer every question in one post. But try not to leave people in a spin.
There's a fine line between useless content and coaching for free...
Keeping your video short to please the algorithms could mean your post contains ZERO value.
But make it too detailed, and you're coaching for free, which isn't a marketing strategy.
Think about your content as a way for your ideal clients to take baby steps towards their goals. If you shift their beliefs or provide a lightbulb moment, your post has done its job.
You don't need to cram everything you know into every post.
You can save more of that for your lead magnets... Like the one you'll get when you head over to thisislazymarketing.com.
If you want to be an online coach... creating a lot of content is in your future.

We discussed...
- Why not everyone will be successful in building an online businessā¦ and what you can do to find success.
- Finding your voice and expressing opinions to stand out and connect with your audience.
- Using humour as a powerful marketing tool while creating authentic content.
- How to make memorable content to turn your audience into paying clients.
- The importance of dedicating time to writing every day and how to repurpose your content for different formats.
- Why you should probably talk more on camera even if it doesn't generate likes and views.
It was a fun episode to record, with lots of stories, anecdotes, and laughs.

The problem with "get results"...
It's too vague.
It's bordering on meaningless.
People don't want results. They want to build glutes so pert they stress-test the seams of their Lululemon workout pants.
People don't want results. They want people to stop asking, "Do you lift?" and start saying, "Holy sh*t! You're strong AF."
Okay, your clients might not want those "results," but you need to be far more specific. Otherwise, your audience will always think, "Meh" to your offers.
Another way to get people to stop ignoring your offers is to use Direct Response marketing principles. Marketers have used them for over 100 years, and they still work.
You'll need to update them for social media, but there's good news.
Head over to thisislazymarketing.com, and you can grab a FREE 32-page guide that'll help you start generating more leads, even if you have a tiny following.

Your job is to make a truthful, compelling promise.
Hint... "Lose weight, build muscle, and boost confidence" won't cut it. You need to be MORE specific.

News Flash! You don't need to shout š£ and scream š±
You don't need to dance, point, or gesticulate like a clown to grab attention.
It might seem that only extroverts get noticed on social media, but there's room for people who want to take a calmer, more chilled approach.
Unless you're raising a fire alarm, grabbing attention isn't about who shouts the loudest.
There are better ways to get your ideal clients to engage with your content and message.

Why your efforts to stand out may NEVER work...
If you're struggling to stand out on social media, the WORST thing you can do is copy everyone else.
If your video looks and sounds the same as thousands of others, you'll always struggle to make your voice heard.
Instead, bring new insights and thoughts to your niche, look outside your niche for fresh ideas you can make your own, and above all...
Don't be scared to try random ideas. You never know what will work on these unpredictable platforms.
Get detailed insights into what you should do differently to generate more leads and sales in the latest episode of the Social Mavericks podcast.

Breaking News! You don't have to copy everyone else.
Strange as it seems, it might be better to lean into YOUR strengths, YOUR style, and YOUR personality. Because it's this that will make you stand out more than copying every trend.

Restriction = Creativity. Let me explain... ššš
When you have unlimited options and the ability to do ANYTHING, most people end up doing nothing!
It's overwhelming to think of ideas when there's nothing to train your thoughts in a specific direction.
So, when clients tell me that they're overthinking video content and how to communicate an idea, I place restrictions on their process.
We choose two video formats that they MUST stick to.
Now, when they have an idea, there are only two options for turning it into content. There's no more overthinking, procrastinating, or hours spent creating.
Content is done and posted in double-quick time.
Give it a shot.
You'll find restrictions surprisingly freeing.
Another thing that's surprisingly freeing is going to thisislazymarketing.com and grabbing my FREE 32-page guide on using Direct Marketing principles to get more leads and clients from social media.
It'll help you stop wasting tons of time on social media, and actually get some benefit from all your efforts.

You can learn a lot from a Grifter š
Social media charlatans have lousy products, don't care about their customers, and do anything for money. But... they do understand basic marketing principles.
I don't want you to start lying and cheating to make sales. I want to make that clear.
But... You DO need a clear, truthful promise that gets your ideal clients interested in your offers.
"Get results"
"Boost confidence"
...won't cut it.
WHAT results are you promising?
For example, people joining my 1:1 mentorship invest in getting my direct support to implement marketing systems that help them generate leads from almost every post without spending more than 30 minutes a day on social media.
This is my clear, specific promise.
And if you're interested in learning more about it... drop me a DM with the word MENTORSHIP.
One of my clients had an epiphany...
Several months ago, he wasn't posting consistently. The issue?
Time.
It took too long to think of ideas, record the content, edit the video, add captions, etc.
So, we placed restrictions on his process.
We devised two content formats that took the least effort to create. Every post he made now used one of these styles.
It removed overthinking and focused his mind.
After all, when you have every option available, it's easy to succumb to Option Paralysis.
My client's TWO content formats are guaranteed to generate views and a TON of engagement.
With 100% predictability, these posts get 30k, 50k, 100k, and even 350k views. The same videos get thousands of likes and dozens of meaningful comments.
Thinking outside the box requires you to define the restrictions of the box.
(Oooo... How profound. Maximum social media points for me).

Here's a challenge to help you break out of your content rut š
I give my clients this uncomfortable task if they mention on a coaching call that they're in a rut and have stopped posting.
(Future clients. You have been warned).
- Grab your phone.
- Point it at your face.
- Think of a relevant question.
- Hit record.
- Answer the question in less than 20 seconds.
- Post the video.
It forces you to stop thinking about equipment, scripts, covers, captions, and all the stuff that doesn't matter anywhere near as much as simply posting.
Try it.
And if you need more help turning your organic content into a lead-generating machine, even if you have a small following...

The four niche-specific references I used in this video š
This video is about creating niche-specific content. Although this challenge applies to almost every niche.
Here's how I made it relevant to you (assuming you're an online coach).
1ļøā£ I used the phrase "Online Coaches" in the first sentence.
2ļøā£ I used the phrase "Get Leads."
3ļøā£ I used "Protein Intake" as an example.
4ļøā£ I used "NEAT" as another example.
See how that works?

How I use AI š¤ to make more content faster š
First, I don't treat AI as a tool to take over 100% of the work.
I use various AI tools to simplify my process and enable me to stay consistent across multiple platforms.
Here's a list of the tools I use.
Creator - Caption writing.
Riverside FM - Creating video clips from my podcasts (like this one).
Opus Clip - Same as Riverside FM (often Opus Clip finds different clips).
Claude - Creating article frameworks from podcast transcripts.
And more... But these are the main uses.
Think of AI as a tool to amplify the work you already do, and you'll retain your unique voice while creating more content.
