Just uploaded a new YouTube video! The first one since October 2023... invited me to shoot an episode of their Mazda Discovers series. I got to document how ski's and snowboards are made. A beautiful craft done so meticulously by . An honor to see them work and spend time with them in the mountains.

I've been asked this question a lot lately: What is your goal with the studio? Why did you start it in the first place? Well, let me explain it here!
frank and I founded the studio at the beginning of 2023. At that time, we had no idea where this journey would take us. However, as time passed, our vision became clearer.

The primary purpose of the studio is to serve as a space where creativity can flourish. It may sound cliché, but it's true. Equally important, we aim to foster a community of creators. Our goal is to enable filmmakers and photographers to produce remarkable work, regardless of their budget.

While we do need to generate income, we believe that by providing our space to those who need it, positive outcomes will follow. Well, at least we hope so!

My love for filmmaking has taken me around the world. I'm lucky to have visited some amazing places and collaborated with talented people. It's been a wonderful journey and I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes me next.

I had the opportunity to create and collaborate with amazing brands, yet never have I ever thought to be collaborating with a fashion brand. Blue Ridge reached out and asked if I wanted to try their new line of Blue Ridge jeans and shirts. The jeans are by far my favourite, allowing me to walk comfortably all day and still do my crazy yoga-camera-poses whenever I feel they’re necessary.

So here's to chasing dreams, pushing boundaries, and wearing comfortable jeans!

Working together with my friend . The guy has been crushing his YouTube game since. Stoked to be able to connect with people from all over the world through this YouTube thingy.

This was back when DJI released their new gimbal and wireless system. I was asked to get a camera package ready and balance the thing, which was surprisingly easy! We used the FX6 with a Leica 50mm.

is hosting a fun contest at the moment. Recreating a filmstill with the recourses you have available.

I chose a shot of legend from the movie ‘Source Code’. Had some hard times recreating his famous ‘pain’ face.

Go have a look over on YouTube, where the full behind the scenes + the color grading breakdown can be found. Looking back at the results, I think I did quite okay. Something I maybe should’ve paid more attention to was choice of lenses. I ended up shooting this one on the Leica Lux 80, which is super soft. Though, the actual is rather sharp.

In short. Go and join the contest, its fun, you’ll learn stuff and you get the chance of winning some dope stuff!

NEW VIDEO - A basic understanding of color theory will better your work as a camera person.

Many new cinematographers know some color theory but struggle to apply it during a shoot while it's not so difficult. In the lasted YouTube video I just posted, we're going over some practical examples.

I spend 4 days (no lie) making these animations in Fusion. Previously I'd hop back to after effects, but I felt like learning it. Now, 40 hours later, I feel quite comfortable in fusion. Such an efficient piece of software!

The most professional bike-tracking shot I’ve done to date. Footage turned out good tho!

Quite fun to be so flexible, however, a proper car mount is no excessive luxury. My back hated me for it🥲.

What is the weirdest spot you’ve been in? Shoot👇🏼!

Today it's exactly one year ago I received my Blackmagic 6K Pro. Quite the ride we've had since. I used the 4K, skipped the 6K when it was released, but couldn't resist the 6K Pro.

In the new YouTube video (link in bio), I look back at an amazing year of opportunities. Opportunities where the 6K Pro has been a part of most of the time. We also discuss if the 6K Pro is still a valuable option in 2022. A question I get asked almost every day.

This thumbnail shot was shot last year as part of the release video I made about the Blackmagic camera.

Pretty stoked on that one! Made by .frank

Today we're taking a look at practical lighting. Practicals are lights present in the frame that add to the image. In night interiors they're often used as a motivation for the lighting in the frame. This can then be emphasised by an extra light out of the frame. That's exactly what we're doing in this video.
We're analyzing a couple frames from my favourite cinematographer, Roger Deakins. We are also rebuilding this scene in a black studio, to see what the cove light is actually doing to the image. If you're interested in non-traditional lighting techniques, definitely check the video out!
Aputure and I are giving away a FULL kit of B7C. Want more info on how to win? Check the video!

Negative fill. It’s the technique I used most in the work I do. It’s fast, efficient and it creates a great contrast. Check the video (link in bio) if you’re interested in this topic. The video is only 3 minutes long, so no chit-chat!

I used a floppy 1x1m, and a cstand in this video!

I always try to keep my setups as compact as possible without loosing functionality. Especially when doing unscripted work, like documentaries, it’s essential to be flexible.

First and foremost, I use the BMPCC 6k Pro as my main camera. The biggest reason for this is the picture quality combined with the codec. Also, the size is ideal to use in tight corners.

The lenses I use here, are the Leica R lenses. Such a beautiful image, mood and feel. Great sharpness, yet still nice smooth highlights.

The rig consists of .global parts. Tophandle, cage, baseplate, follow focus, vlock plate, mattebox etc.

For the wireless transmission, does the job. As seen in the picture, I use the Mars Pro. Great range, multiple mobile devices for sound, production etc. The RX is hooked up to the directors monitor.

The Vlock I use is the 95WH, connected with a dtap cable.

Then last, yet, most important item. My Minimax. Not only does it supports my back, which allows me to do hour long takes without hardcore fatigue, but also, it creates a beautiful handheld feel without it being disturbing.

A week ago we had the pleasure of shooting for Tommy Hilfiger in partnership with Movado.

We combined extreme close-ups using the probe, and top-downs using the 18-35.

Lighting was achieved by an Aputure 600X and the new Godox 600D through a rectangular softbox from the side, for an overal level. The top light was an amaran 200d with a parabolic softbox, slightly tilted away to avoid reflections in the watch’ glass.

On some settings we bounces a amaran 200x with a 2x fresnel into a polyboard, seen on picture 3.

We used large rectangular softboxes because the soft reflection gave a high-quality look in the glass when turning the watch using a turntable.

Overall, a lot of fun to spend a day in the studio.

I spend two days on a glacier together with & to kick off the winter season. We were treated with great snow (for November standards) and amazing weather.
I shot a short video covering all the activities we did, which turned out pretty cool. I used the BMPCC 6K Pro as my main camera, paired with the Sigma 18-35 + Tiffen BPM 1/8 filter. The drone I used was a DJI Air S2.

Next week, this video will launch on my YouTube channel. A two day ski/splitboard touring trip on the Solden glacier.

Pretty happy with what I was able to capture in two days as a solo shooter carrying loads of safety-gear as well. Thanks a lot to and for the great support and fun!
