It took me quite a while after I quiet drinking to come up with a solid morning routine which I now look forward to and love.

The trick for me was to remain flexible and never get down on myself if I missed part of my routine.

I spent the last week camping with kids so my morning routine was non-exsistant and I allowed myself to enjoy all of the summer/camping things like one too many s’mores and two ice cream cones instead of one or a non-alcohol beer for breakfast.

Let’s just say I enjoyed myself a little bit too much but not to worry, I’m just refocusing now and readjusting.

My morning routine is simple and easy but gives me room to allow myself some grace, I’m only human after all.

My routine goes something like this…

Coffee
Workout
Chill time
Smoothie
Prepare lunch
Get ready for work

It doesn’t have to be complicated and you don’t have to beat yourself up if things change up a little.

Morning routines in sobriety are a crucial foundation for success. By implementing morning routines you’re saying to yourself “I matter”.

You are saying that I am still able, I am still capable, I am worthy and I can still do productive things to take care of myself even on hard days.

You’re setting a track record for yourself. When you have difficult days in the future, you’ll know you can pull through because you’ve done it before.

Do you follow a morning routine? Do you find it successful?
