A student in Nigeria was stoned, beaten and burned to death after she was accused of blasphemy. Deborah Samuel was attacked and killed by her fellow classmates after posting a message on WhatsApp, that Nigerian police say was blasphemy against the prophet Muhammad. Legal Counsel for Global Religious Freedom with ADF International, Sean Nelson, joins to give us a better sense of what is going on in Nigeria. While people were protesting for the release of the suspects who are accused of killing Deborah, they attacked a Catholic cathedral. Nelson explains what more is known about this. How Kano girl was abducted and killled by her school teacher after collecting ransom

A statement by the police on Thursday said the school teacher, Abdulmalik Tanko, was the one who abducted and killled her.

“Sometimes on the 04/12/2021 at about 20:30hrs, a report was received from a resident of Dakata Quarters, Nassarawa LGA, Kano State that, one Hanifa Abubakar, ‘f’, aged 5 years old, was kidnapped and a ransom of Six Million Naira (N6,000,000.00) was demanded,” police said in a statement by the command spokesman, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa.

Family sources said the teacher who kidnapped her was among the first set of people who came to console her parents after the abduction on December 4, 2021.

So this little beauty has been wasted just like that?

TEARS!!! Kidnappers Kill 5-year-old Kano Girl Despite Collecting Ransom

A 5-year-old girl, Hanifa Abubakar, has been brutally murdered by her abductors 44 days after she was kidnapped in Kano.

It was earlier reported that the child was abducted at Kawaji, in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, December 4, 2021, on her way home from Islamic school.

According to Daily Nigerian, the kidnappers killed Hanifa despite collecting part of the N6m demanded,.

Her uncle, Suraj Suleiman, confirmed the killing and recovery of her remains at a mushroom private school in Tudunwada area of Kano.

According to Suleiman, the abductor first took her to his wife, but the wife refused to keep her.

"The kidnapper first took Hanifa to his wife, but the wife refused to keep her. He then took her to Tudunwada where he operates a private school, and then laced her tea with rat poison,” her uncle said.

After she was poisoned to death, the kidnappers then cut her body into pieces and buried it within the school."

It was gathered that the abductors were arrested around Zaria Road in Kano last night while attempting to collect the second tranche of the ransom.

Greetings UmuChineke,

Our attention has been drawn to the deliberate misrepresentation/falsehood and wrong narratives being perpetuated by some mischief makers, and which is unfortunately gradually gaining prominence on social media platforms and print media. Hence, it is pertinent that we provide clarification and clear the doubt.

S.M. Labaran Esq., who stood in yesterday for the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation is a colleague I hold in high esteem, but I shall resist every mischievous ploy being adopted to misinform the unsuspecting members of the public who were not privy to the details of the proceedings in court yesterday, with a wrong and mischievous interpretation of the purport of the Plea taken by our indefatigable Client - Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

For the records, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu never denied being the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) while taking his plea, but only STOUTLY DENIED THE FACT THAT IPOB IS A TERRORIST ORGANISATION AND THAT BEING ITS LEADER IS AN OFFENCE, which position is well informed.

Members of the Public should be well guided that the status of the black market order proscribing IPOB is a subject of Appeal in Appeal Number: APPEAL NO. CA/A/214/2018, pending before the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division.

That being said, it is only laughable that the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) in their desperate but futile attempt to give a dog a bad name in order to hang it, brought a charge bordering on the status of IPOB, a subject matter of a competent Appeal, where issues has been joined with the same FGN.

Therefore, be properly guided UmuChineke, because we have sufficiently addressed the emptiness of that count and entire charge in our compelling Submissions before the Court, now adjourned to be heard on the 16th day of February, 2022.

We do not wish to dwell further on this subject, but be rightly informed that Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu never denied being the Leader of IPOB while taking his Plea yesterday.

ARREST OF THREE SUSPECTED CULTIST INVOLVED IN THE DEHUMANIZING A TIKTOK SOCIAL MEDIA USER

The Edo state Police Command has arrested three suspected cultists who were involved in the Assault and Dehumanizing a TIKTOK social media user simply identified as Olivia, surname unknown.
Following the viral video clip where some young men were seen assaulting and dehumanizing a young lady, the Commissioner of Police CP Philip Aliyu Ogbadu Psc(+) directed a discreet investigation and intelligence base approach to unravel those behind the dastardly act. During the cause of information and intelligence gathering, the following suspects were arrested at different locations in Benin City.

They are Omozejele John ‘M’ (29years) arrested on 26/09/2021 at about 2000hrs at Uteh Community area of Upper Mission Extension Benin City, Smart Ogbeide ‘M’ (29years) was arrested on the 27/09/2021 at about 2130hrs along Paulingo Brothel Uteh Community Upper Mission Extension Benin City while Tajudeen Afesume ‘M’ (30years) arrested in his hideout at Owina Quarters Uteh Community Upper Mission Extension Benin City.

The three suspects arrested have all confessed to the crime and further confessed to being members of Aye Secret Cult. They are presently cooperating with police investigations and are already providing useful information that will lead to the arrest of other cult members on the run.
The Commissioner of Police has directed the suspects be charged to court, vowing that cult groups and other criminal elements will not be allowed to operate in the state.
