We are looking at doing another run of the “I AM THE ONE” shirts and wanted to get some feelers out there and see who would be interested in purchasing a tank or tee in support of those battling cancer? We may have lost John Janatsch this year but he still very much lives on through each of us and Second Chance Productions, DJ THE1, Gsptv Houston, Second Chance Foundation & Second Chance Magazine pages. John felt very strongly about helping others and he was blessed to not only gain some amazing friendships through his cancer support team & doctors but each and every one of you that followed him along the way with his journey / battle and some of you battled along with him. So to keep his wishes moving forward the proceeds will be broken down into precentages to Oncology Consultants, National Cancer Foundation & in helping Frank Aluotto from BFE Rock Club with his battle, the remainder will go to his family. GODFATHER FEST!! Show up and show the love, H-Town Music Scene 🎶

Friends and Family of BFE Rock Club, we come to you with news that we hoped would never happen, but our own Frank Aluotto…Houston’s Godfather of Rock N’ Roll…needs our help.
For the last 18 months, Frankie has been battling Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS Cancer), an incurable type of rare blood cancer. MDS affects bone marrow and prevent it from creating healthy blood cells. In recent months, the cancer has progressed to a point where it’s causing kidney failure, along with numerous other problems that are making it increasingly more difficult for him both physically, mentally, and financially.

Frankie has been one of Houston Music’s most prominent members and served its community proudly for the last 31 years. Bfe Rock Club and its sister venues throughout the years have given countless bands a place to start their journeys and hone their crafts, and to this day continues to be a home to so many of the city’s musicians and fans alike. Frankie is a man who has always been one of the first to give when someone is in need. He has hosted hundreds of Benefits and loves this city and its bands more than anything. We’re asking for the Houston Music Scene to please come together and help us give back to the man who has given so much to others in his time.

We are in the preliminary stages of planning but a full weekend of music we’re calling GODFATHER FEST! It will take place on Friday March 8th and Saturday March 9th. If we have enough bands wanting to participate, we will add Sunday March 10th as well. We will also set up ways for people to make donations online, or in person at BFE Rock Club, during the time leading up to GODFATHER FEST in March. As it stands, we need to raise at least $20,000 and that number will likely keep growing in the coming months.

As most of you know John Janatsch, the backbone and founder of The ONE Magazine, Gsptv Houston, Second Chance Productions, Second Chance Magazine & Second Chance Foundation lost his battle with Cancer on July 24th. Throughout John’s battle he never once stopped thinking about the many battles he’s been put up against in his life and each of these battles created a journey in this crazy, wonderful life that always led him back to music. No matter what cards he was dealt he came out with a positive attitude and a reason for why things happened, and it was all a steppingstone into what he has created. In these journeys he always had music & family in his heart, and he always found a way to put positive light and energy into others with music, entertainment and a way to make people smile it is what he thrived for. Throughout his battle the last two years with Cancer John has always had his fans, team members and, family in mind and wanted things to carry on in his Legacy. John had a special person for every role within his companies & with that being said I’d like to introduce his daughter Gabrielle Stevenson as the new Owner and Manager of The One Magazine & Second Chance Magazine.
Gabrielle isn’t by any means new to this industry, and he couldn’t have chosen a better person to take over this role as she was raised with the passion and strength of none other than John & Leda Janatsch. She’s had a strong foundation to lead her to this point of taking over this role, but she is nowhere near “new” to it. Gabby has worked on many shows, you may have found her designing John’s flyers or, tickets, possibly working a booth, maybe the door, interviewing, writing articles and has worn so many hats throughout the years. She’s done it all behind the scenes quietly and now it’s her time to carry this torch loudly! We all know she will make her dad proud and you, too! We ask for your patience with us while we make some adjustments & move forward. Please Help me welcome Gabby into her new role, everyone! CONGRATULATIONS, GABRIELLE!
