"I thought I was very honest with myself about all of the anxiety I felt after I was let go from my previous job earlier this year. I confronted my feelings about it, wrote about it for this newsletter and picked myself up after feeling so low," she wrote.

"I’ve always viewed Rita Moreno as an iconic Puerto Rican actress who paved the way for so many Latinx artists that I admire. After watching the documentary of her life, Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go For It, I saw her as more than just an actress — I saw her as a mental health advocate.
..

During the documentary, 89-year-old Moreno not only opens up about the misogyny and racism she endured, but she also candidly speaks about her battle with depression, su***de, sexual assault and the importance of taking care of her mental health."

Check out the link below to read this week's by Maria Elena, who reviewed Rita Moreno's documentary and applauded the iconic actress for her openness in discussing mental health.
