Serpent's Log, 3rd of March 2023, Waxing Gibbous

Lodgers,
It is with a dry throat and a wet eye that we must bring these news to you.
The Lodge of the Wyrm, as it was known and cherished, as it was borne and grown, must now cease -alas, almost three years since its first manifestation. It’s been a while now that its upkeep has started to become a burden and a decision had to be made. Truth be told, it could slither on by will alone, ignoring the hard facts, but that would only bring a direr doom.

As of today and with a Bandcamp Friday offer active, all remaining physical items in its catalogue will be at a reduced price for clearance, until the morning of the 6th, this Monday, when our Bandcamp page will be shut down and return to oblivion.
We will be forever grateful to the brilliant artists that trusted us with their work and to everybody that supported the Lodge in any manner. The Work may not be done in full, but, in its short span, the message was clear and carried through with true love and devotion.

Fare Well and Tread Careful in these bleak and treacherous times.

It was with heartfelt joy and a profound honor that we've found two of our releases among the local scene section of METAL HAMMER GREECE (Official), in its last two Sept. and Oct.) issues. And that because, apart from the obvious, we are its readers and supporters since our early days, since the days of our first musical obsessions, as it is entwined with our very first memories.

Our gratitude and sincere thanks to the Hammer's team and especially to Kostas and Andreas, for taking interest in our little musical fringe, our little obscure alcove of the weird and neglected.

The Wyrm ceases its Hiatus. IT ascends. The ritual bells echo once again through the labyrinths of its inner lair and the brazen beacons cast a sturdy light, as two initiates are brought forth to be reborn and revealed.

>< Idylls of the Last King, a renowned craftsman of profound subterranean drones, establishes the scene for the Ascension with a skillful interlacing of tones and resonances. Soul-piercing strings protrude over lush foundations of ethereal and brooding pads and a sense of abandonment gives way to the plerosis. Here, the artist cuts a scission into the subconscious, frees the innermost gist of all existential anguish and throws away the shelling of fear and cowering defenses. ‘Tis a journey inward that follows an upward trajectory -a daring quest of self-truth and serenity.

>< Μέλαν Θεαυγές, in his Interstellar Psalms of Lucifer (Διαστρικοί Ψαλμοί του Εωσφόρου), conducts the next stage of the ritual. Acting as an upstart emissary, he recites through an abysmal grimoire in an over-65 minutes long procession, seamlessly brought together by a crepuscular and fertile imagination. A daring task, in both depth and magnitude, the Psalms are an eclipsed recital of unique value, a pitch-black eulogy to the fallen, the shunned upon and the inherently magnificent. Bare witness to the acclamation of antithesis, an astral a-symphony of the antipode, a ceremony for the perennial antipode.

The “Psalms and Drones” bundle includes (see photos): Two pro-dubbed cassettes, a pin, a card, Lodge stickers and printed download codes for both new releases, as well as for the last three Wyrm Lodge entries (from Korath, Mystica Visio and Apokrymna).

The initial preorder for this bundle will stand for seven days, ending on the 22nd of May and is limited to 25 copies. After that, both releases will be made available individually, in physical and digital form.

The herald has arrived in town. Dressed in purple garments, followed by a scrawny scribe like a bone shadow. His piercing resonant voice floods the narrow alleys, writhing as it should in between walls, as curiously fearful eyes spy between parapets and windosills. The stage is his and this is what he reads:

Lodgers! During the time of silence and seclusion, pandemic has turned into war and we are left alone, counting casualties, distracted and indifferent. We have familiarised ourselves with the spectacle of pain, of loss and displacement. Of souls tormented by the void, of hearts thirsty for truth.
Despair not! Do not abandon hope, frail as it is still nesting within you! For the news I bare forthwith carry a harmonious message guised within. The Lodge of the Wyrm has not abandoned its cause. Two new messengers of its Will shall be brought before you, naked as the reality that now burdens you, mysterious as the gist of the omens that you have heard. As proof and testament of this, I present to you their sigils and here they are!
All will be known in due time. All is not lost. The book is not yet closed shut. Be patient, be aware!

With the last echo of his voice on their trail, the two figures shuffle their feet monotonously and exit the scene, as prudently as they entered. A reminder of their visit now stands on the wall facing the main square. Two imposing murals written in charcoal and ochre:

As promised a while ago, our laboring ghouls set heart and corrupted soul on fabricating a fine piece of garment for all your ritualistic and heresiological needs and we now proudly offer and present it to you.

Subtly named “Snake Exegesis”, this bundle of cotton and brown tape includes a white t-shirt of the finest quality along with a copy of the “Last of the Ophites” gnostic testament by Apokrymna. On the front side of the t-shirt, the Apokrymna logo melts in black tar and on its back you will find the mighty Wyrm Lodge logo just below your neck.

There are only fourteen (14) available, so make the blasphemous choice and treat your selves with something white, yet impure, to wrap around you. Why the darn not? ‘Tis the end of times after all, and you should indulge.

What’s slithering, Lodgers?
With summer almost gone, the artificial sense of carefreeness wanes along with it and so is our patience with those unable to focus on something other than their own vanity.

Pictured below, is a traditional insect repellent put to use by thousands of worrisome mothers and old-school campers around the globe. Even though considered a tad outdated in our times (well, so is common decency), its form symbolism (and trademark name) reminds those ignorant to the Lodge that it is, after all, a SNAKE that watches over and protects you from harmful bugs, be it on your summer porches or your salt-soaked and minimum hygiene campsites. Unbeknownst to most people, especially the kind we Lodgers do not mingle with, its use is but the burning of an over-the-counter ritual stick dedicated to the magnanimity of the Wyrm. BAZINGA!

Back to the Lodge’s business, we are currently preparing a (soon to be announced) special merchandise release -one that involves a certain upper body apparel and of course SOME SNAKES.
