This legendary strain goes back to the early days of the SSSC in the 1980's and in some parts of the world growers kept clones due to her unusual and rare characteristics. The genetics are naturally highly resistant to bad weather, this makes her interesting to outdoor growers of all types.
Friesland is the result of extensive outdoor selective breeding in the cold and damp area of the Friesland region. This breeding took place back in the early days of the SSSC in the North of The Netherlands, close to the Wadden Sea.
