Emotional storytelling is one of my favorite things to do. It's what I miss most about podcasting and one of the reasons why I'm hopping back on the podcasting train on Wisco Legacy Media soon!
What is emotional storytelling?
Have you ever watched a clip online and felt a deep sense of connection to it? What drew you in? What made you feel that deep sense of connection? That's emotional storytelling. Feeling an emotional connection to a particular video.
When I create clips for social media, I try and find clips that make me feel a deep sense of connection. I then seek out background music that aligns with the feeling that I am getting when I watch the clip.
Then, I hope my audience feels that same sense of connection. Some clips hit and some don't but every time I release one, I learn from it.
Check out this clip of Megan Schilt and Emily Murray of Avenues Counseling, LLC. Do you feel that emotional connection?

I've been reflecting back to my podcasting days a lot lately.
I love having conversations like the one I had with Alex Erickson here. I met a lot of great people in my podcasting journey and was the conduit to a lot of great stories.
My podcasting days are not over. But, for now, we'll have to rely on clips like this and revisiting some of the former episodes.
