Salt River Project (SRP) and Plus Power LLC celebrated two new grid-charged battery storage systems, Sierra Estrella Energy Storage and Superstition Energy Storage. Together, these facilities will add 340 megawatts / 1,360 megawatt-hours of additional battery storage capacity to SRP’s system — enough to power 76,000 residential homes for a four-hour period.

Our Story

West Valley View covers and delivers to Avondale, Buckeye, Goodyear, Litchfield Park and Tolleson, Arizona, as well as unincorporated Maricopa County south of Northern Avenue and west of 83rd Avenue. The View is published each Wednesday by West Valley View, Inc. The newspaper covers events that occur and are of interest to the residents of our community. It covers: local businesses, local government, local school districts, Estrella Mountain Community College, high school sports, and provides a forum for ideas in editorials and letters to the editor. It also provides a marketplace for local businesses to advertise their goods and services. The View also helps to provide a leadership role for such causes as the local food banks by sponsoring an annual food drive. It also provides information about other entities that host donation drives for local social causes. The View is an independent, free, weekly newspaper. It was founded in 1986 by Elliott Freireich. In 2009 the newspaper moved into a 35,000-square-foot office/printing facility that houses a 12-unit newspaper web press, which prints the View as well as other newspapers on a contract basis. The View is mostly carrier delivered with a distribution of 77,272 (June 22, 2010). The newspaper has won numerous state awards as well as international awards for editorial writing.
