Mesmerising western ghats! To be honest I had underestimated western ghats till now comparing it with Himalayas. But they are equally majestic, especially in monsoon season. If are planning travel soon, western ghats are the way to go.

Location: Malshej ghat.
It’s distance is about 150 km from mumbai, it’s even closer from Pune.

CSE Mains Results are out!! Hearty Congratulations to everyone who has made it to the list. Here are some suggestions for you:

1. Please start talking on various topics in the language of your interview medium to your friends and family. Usually our medium is English but we don't use it in our day to day life. Use the language even in your normal talks , it will help you get better fluency when you speak.

2. Read atleast 2 newspapers and more throughly than you used to do for Mains as even socio-political issues which are not asked in mains, can be asked in interview.

3. Keep your fitness levels at best. Do spend adequate amount of time in ensuring that you look fit and healthy on the day of your interview. Looks don't matter but your fitness does .

4. Develop a habit of making a chain of thought with questions- answers and then subsequent questions and counter questions which possibly could be made to the answer you think. It will help you think about an issue in multiple dimensions.

5. Give sufficient number of mock interviews. Not too many, not too few. 5-6 mocks is a decent number.

6. Last but not the least, I personally feel interview your confidence is "the most" important thing which decides your marks. But remember real confidence can't be faked. It will only come with depth in your preparation. Without adequate depth the confidence comes off as arrogance, which could be very negative for the results.

Hoodie or no hoodie ? Which one is better?? Lemme know 🙃.

May be I can’t’ but the heavenly beauty of village Kalga of Himachal would take your breath away. Kalga is famous for being the starting point of one of the routes to the very famous kheerganga trek. People usually stop here for snacks, but if you choose to go up Kasol into the Parvati valley, I highly recommend take it slow. Stay one night at least in Kalga, you will not regret it for sure.

Finally after such a long gap of 5 months, we are on road again. Kasol it is this time, though we have been here last year too but gorgeous Parvati valley has so much to offer that we had to come back. Going on a gorgeous lesser known trek tomm.. stay tuned :)

Tungabhadra and me !!

During my trip to Karnataka I found that Rivers of South are comparatively more serene and clean and have lots of water in winters too. Tungabhadra is definitely one of the most gorgeous rivers I have been to.

When u roam around in its magnificent forts you time travel to glorious past and are usually awestruck the whole time with the sheer grandeur of it all.

But what makes Rajasthan more unique is the glorious mesmerizing scenes which are created when nature interacts with this grand architecture.

Royal Palace, Jaipur! Here are some glimpses of this magnificent royal architecture.

Here's a pro tip for you to roam around Jaipur. There are usually entry fees to every monument which are available in front of individual monument but you can purchase group tickets together which saves you money and long queue standing time. Another good thing about these group tickets is that they valid for 2 days. :)

Hampi keeps coming back to my memories because it's so different from other places, it's as if you enter Hampi and transcend into a different world, filled with wonder and surprise yet an overwhelming peace all around. If you haven't visited yet, make it your next destination whenever you travel. Trust me you will thank me later .

I am proud to be an Indian. Always was, Always am.

There have been many moments since I was little kid which I could remember as foundation of my love for my country.

Every citizen for that matter has a sense attachment to the soil he /she was born in, but to be true my love for the nation and idea ie India is above concept of Nationality. Idea which has assimilated everyone to its heritage, idea which celebrates diversity, a country which always believed in "वसुधैव कुटुंबकम्" and that in this universe be it man, animal, any lifeform or thing, its connected through a flow, the idea which still hasn't been deciphered by the Western World, and if understood in entirety can solve many problems which we are having.

All I have to say is that I can do nothing but to bow down to this idea, nation and land which we called India .

And proud to be part of Govt of India, as an front line upholder of the preamble of our Constitution.

From the legendary lost city of Hampi where history and mythology come to life .

Hampi is easily the best historical city I have visited. It's monuments standing as well as ruins, along with its very unique natural rock formations (which also give you feel as if it's architecture on its own) this city takes you to another land. Many more posts to come about Hampi.

Let me tell you a little secret, however together someone's life appears to you, trust me everyone has his/her own struggles. However sorted a person looks to you, I can assure he/she has mountains of emotions movin inside of her. I am sharing this very frankly to all of you because I kinda belong to a group ( civil servant) which is supposed to have their lives together.
But trust me all of us are messed up in some ways. 🌸

Difference is created with acceptance and trying to learn everyday.In trying to be positive everyday. It's very easy to justify our anger, frustrations, yes life is hard for all of us in different ways. But it's takes courage to be positive, it takes courage in trying to see life in its full entirety ie beautiful with its challenges. It takes courage to keep smiling, it takes courage to forgive, it takes courage to think " best is yet to come " . I pledge to be courageous today. :) . Not asking you to join me, just sharing . :)

Upsc Mains starts from tommorow !! All the best to everyone appearing in the exams .

Few things I wanted to share which I learnt from my journey.

1. First and foremost you have to remember you have to do just comparatively better than others. I promise you no person on earth knows all the questions, but do write nearest possible logical answer instead of leaving the question.

2. Keep looking at your watch throughout since the beginning. Time just flies and with so many questions to attempt sometimes we can't complete the paper because we spent writing one great answer. Don't do that.

3. Take 2 bottles of water : one with normal water ,second glucose water. ( It really helps keeping up the speed).

4.While choosing essay topic if you are confused between 2 topics choose the one which more number of people would select. ( Comparative better performance logic)

5. Try connecting the whole subject matter of UPSC in your answers. ( Eg citing relevant recent policy development if any ( GS paper ll) in answers of GS Paper l/lll and vice versa.

6.Use real life examples/ simple life scenarios to elaborate questions of GS paper lV ( Ethics)

7. If you are confident about your speed try highlighting imp points with different ink/ underlining.

8. Last but not the least , don't think about the paper after its done. Start thinking about next paper'. I know it's easier said than done but then again UPSC is the game for people who give their" best no matter what. That's all is expected of you. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ps: You can take volini spray too inside exam halls. I always carried one. :)

Dance is an important part of who I am, who I have always been. But when I witness our ancient dance forms its a feeling of elevation to a place almost touching spirituality.

Did you know the artists of kathakali devote their entire lives to keep the tradition alive. The make up takes about 2-3 hours everytime they go on stage, this much hard work when they have already put their initial lives in training. They have to master expressions or Nava Rasa, mostly through their eyes which pop make in the carefully crafted makeup. They practice their eyes movements only for atleast 2-3 hours every morning.

Traditions like this are not only at the core of our culture but they are actually the pillars of strength we feel as Indians. You might think why so emotional dear, but then if you stop and watch arts like this with all your heart you would feel nothing short of what I just wrote, may be much more.

Kerala is a great winter destination and could be your next one with the Christmas approaching. If you do visit Kerala do not miss out on its rich cultural heritage, Kathakali, Kalaripayattu and much more. :)

Cycling around Fort Kochi!!New YouTube VLog alert ( Link in bio )

Imagine cycling in a totally new town where you have never been before. Trust me it was an experience in itself. As the town was Kochi which is also known as cultural capital of Kerala, and the most unique area of Kochi ie Fort Kochi area this bicycle ride was bound to be something different. :)

Watch the video to know to spend the day in Kochi in best possible way. This is really imp if you are planning a trip to Kerala because most of the itinerary would compulsorily involve Kochi as it is the main railway station and airport of Kerala.

Btw did you know if you wanna go to Lakshadweep by flight you have to go via Kochi only? Also kochi hosts biggest art festival of India namely Biennale ( cancelled in recent times due to covid ) , which says so much about the cultural angle of Kochi . Hope you like the video, do tell us if you do ☺️

Cherry blossoms !!! You must have heard this name in context of travel to Japan. Did you know you could witness them in India too. Yes, you can see cherry blossom bloom in Meghalaya. Exact location : Ward's lake, Shillong.

You can see nature's glory at its best in this pink and purple tree. With clear blue skies of Meghalaya, it was a sight to behold.

Btw did you know, cherry blossom is the national flower of Japan. :)

Sharing pics of a place which appears like heaven. Such pics which made me put my pic in the last. 🌸

And this heaven is a spot known as Top Station in god's own country Kerela. It's at a distance of 32 km from Munnar town on Mattupatty dam route, which is best of the 3 routes of munnar sight seeing. 🍁

As you must have understand this is a Sun rise spots. Needless to say one of the best in India. 🌿

Varkala times !! Sharing some pics from the world's second most beautiful Cliff beach 🏖️,
Yes Varkala Beach of Kerala was awarded that tag !!!

It's very hip in its culture too and very unique in serene beauty. It also is a great wellness destination with many ayurvedic and yoga resorts and treatment centres. It can be reached from both kochi and Trivandrum airports without much hustle. And winters are great time to visit God's own country Kerela. Will try to share more details Kerela as travel destination in next posts.
