Sharon Louden is an artist, educator, advocate for artists, editor of the Living and Sustaining a Creative Life series of books, and the Artistic Director of the Chautauqua Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution.

She graduated with a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from Yale University School of Art. Louden's work is held in major public and private collections including the Whitney Museum of American Art, National Gallery of Art, Neuberger Museum of Art, Arkansas Arts Center, Yale University Art Gallery, Weatherspoon Art Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, among others. Published in 2013, Living and Sustaining a Creative Life is now in its 7th printing.

With sales in over 24 countries, it has become Intellect Books #1 best selling publication two years in a row. The book has been translated into Korean, garnered over 45 reviews, the subject of 15 podcasts and radio appearances and received more individual feedback than can be counted. From 2013 until 2015, Louden went on a 62-stop book tour, where she met thousands of artists from all over the US.

Louden has continued this momentum bringing her second book, The Artist as Culture Producer: Living and Sustaining a Creative Life, on an extensive 102-stop conversation/book tour which launched at the Strand BookStore on March 2, 2017 and concluded in Fairbanks, Alaska in April, 2018. Louden continues to travel widely to institutions and organizations about her work and the work of others.

Eliza is the inaugural Executive Director of Res Artis focused on fundraising, public profile and strategy for the organisation. Eliza served on the Res Artis Board of Directors from 2012 to 2016. Prior, Eliza worked as Arts Residencies Manager at Asialink.

Eliza has worked at a range of local and international institutions and organisations including Christie’s auction house in London, The Ian Potter Museum of Art & Artbank. Eliza holds a MA Art Curatorship and BA Creative Arts, both from the University of Melbourne.

Matthias Hillner

Currently the Director of Programmes at the Glasgow School of Art, Singapore, Matthias holds three postgraduate degrees from the Royal College of Art, including a PhD in Innovation Management at the Department for Service Design. He authored the book "Intellectual Property, Design Innovation, and Entrepreneurship" published by Springer. In 2015 he was commissioned by the UK IPO to investigate the infringement of design rights in the UK before I moved to Singapore to become Head of School, Design Communication at LASALLE College of the Arts.

In 2019, Matthias joined Glasgow School of Art in Singapore. He is the Founder of the Studio for Virtual Typography, a design consultancy which was funded through a start-up award obtained from the National Endowment of Science Technology and the Arts (NESTA).

Saurabh Taneja

Saurabh graduated from IIT Delhi, and intended to move towards a career in the corporate sector. However due to a small stint as a volunteer, Saurabh discovered his passion for making a difference.

In 2009, Saurabh became a fellow with Teach For India. During his fellowship, he taught in a municipal school in Mumbai where he found the disparity in the opportunities available for children coming from low-income communities and from wealthy neighborhoods was starkly prevalent. Saurabh was struck by the thought of opening his own school.

It was then that an opportunity to start a secondary school opened up in Pune. Saurabh led the first Akanksha Secondary school in Pune in partnership with the Pune Municipal Corporation and The Thermax Foundation. During his time as the School Leader, he took three batches of students through the SSC exams with a 100% pass rate.

Saurabh is a humble and a deeply passionate leader with a vision to lead Akanksha into its next phase of growth.

Nirjala Sharma

An Alumni of Akanksha, Nirjala has completed grade 10. She feels so blessed to be a part of the Akanksha school.

Akanksha gave her the opportunity to play football and soon football became her passion and she got a chance to go to London and explore her passion even more.

She went to a camp called KER, where she met 100's of revolutionaries. Nirjala soon got an opportunity to visit New York and be a part of the Gala as a speaker and represent the whole Akanksha foundation and her school.

Fatema Mandal

Fatema has studied in Akanksha for eleven years and has been raised by her mother. She lives in Mankhurd so it is hard to travel by train for half an hour in order to reach school.

But all these difficulties were nothing compared to the good quality education she has received from her school. Being a part of Akanksha has influenced her life to a great extent and has made her a confident individual.

Fatema has matured and developed as an individual. Her school has always provided her with many opportunities in studies and extracurricular activities and provided her with an opportunity to solve the problems of children of her age.

“The unique feature of all Akanksha schools is that they give utmost importance to values like integrity, honesty, respect”, says Fatema. Akanksha has always been like a family to her and the values that she has learnt, will remain with her forever.

Srividya Prakash

Vidya is the CEO of Antara International, working to catalyze the delivery of public health solutions to improve maternal and child health outcomes.

She previously worked in management consulting and public health with McKinsey & Company and with their Global Public Health Practice. Vidya also worked in commercial asset management in renewable energy with sPower-AES.

Vidya is based in the San Francisco Bay Area where she is an active volunteer in the areas of education, domestic violence, gender equality, homelessness and food security, including with Maitri, Dining for Women, Abode Services and local food banks.

Jayshree Oberoi

Jayshree has a master’s degree in zoology from Pune University and is trained in Non-profit Management and Leadership from Boston University. She is also an India School Leadership Institute (ISLI) Fellow.

She began her career as a research assistant at the Wildlife Institute of India in Dehradun and went on to work with World Wide Fund for Nature-India and New England Aquarium, Boston.

After spending 11 years in USA and France, in 2011, Jayshree moved back to India and joined Akanksha as a school leader at Late Anantrao Pawar Memorial English Medium School in Pune. Jayshree brings in rich expertise in school development and project management.

Alumuni of 2013 batch of KCTVN, Yashodara is pursuing BPed (bachelor's in physical education) degree. She is also a professional Cyclist.

She has been competing from last 6 years and her most recent achievement was playing for India in 2019 South Asia Games. She grabbed third position in downhill event - India's first international medal in downhill MTB.

She believes that few sports in India still don't have that much recognition as they should have. Her goal is to be able to improve and give back to her game and also work for the field in any manner she can.

At CFT she worked with over 400 companies and also supported many individual donors with their philanthropic giving and engagement. Among other career highlights, she also started a U.S.-India based social venture, SevaYatra, with one of Akanksha's long-time friends, Azad Oommen.

Preeti Baghel

Preeti is 23 years old and a BA psychology graduate. She is an Akanksha alumni and has worked with Akanksha as an intern too.

“I believe that everyone should have a safe space for expression and therefore with 4 other friends of mine we co founded the SHOR, a poetry club where people from all walks of life are welcomed to come and express themselves in whichever artistic form they wish to.” says Preeti who loves to explore different music, art, dance, languages, books etc.

She believes she is creating safe spaces for expression through her work. Career wise, her goal is to be a mental health professional. In the past Preeti has worked with an NGO named Apni shala which works for Mental health life skills with educational institutions across mumbai.

Currently she is working as a full-time content writer and social media managing intern with PTAVIAM'S COEI. She is also planning to pursue her Master's in Mental health counseling or child psychology and education.

Chinmaya Potnis

Chinmaya is a 2012 Teach for India fellow and a founding member of the first ever standalone Secondary school in Pune. She has Completed her Bachelors from Fergusson College, B.Ed. from SNDT University and a Masters from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS, Mumbai).

During the two-year fellowship with Teach for India (Pune), she joined as a Secondary School English teacher at AVBS, Pune in 2013 and took up the role of a School Leader, 4 years later, in 2017.

During her tenure with Akanksha she has also engaged in English curriculum development. Currently, the school serves 220 children coming from the communities in the Peth area in Pune. Teaching has always been her passion and that is what drives her everyday to work with multiple stakeholders - the teachers, the children and their parents.

Hailing from Jodhpur, Jai has been working in cinema for 17 years and worked as an assistant director on feature films with Wes Anderson, Zoya Akhtar, Rajkumar Hirani, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Gurinder Chaddha, Ashim Ahluwalia, Abhinay Deo, Rajesh Mapuskar and many others before he started making films independently.

After working on 32 feature films and more than 300 TV commercials, Jai has been producing various Short Films for the last 6 years. He also Directed/ Produced/ Wrote his first short length film 'Gadhedo' in 2018.
It went to several film festivals globally and Vikrant Massey won Best Actor- Jury award at RIFF 2019.

His next films “So Sicily” & “ ” are into the festival circuit. Jai recently directed the second unit for the Amazon show “Inside Edge- Season 3”. Currently he is working on post production of his first documentary “Nisarg- Story of a cyclone” and Directing Second Unit for a Sony Liv Series.

Shreya Dev Dube studied photography in Melbourne and later went on to specialise in cinematography at Eicar, Paris. BITTU her most recent short film won the student Academy Awards, 2020.

Her feature length film called Cat Sticks, premiered at Slamdance and won the Grand jury prize at Mammoth Lake film festival. BBC1 premiered A suitable boy, directed by Mira Nair.

Shreya operated the camera for the series. She recently wrapped a Netflix feature film Thar, produced by Anil Kapoor.

Ariadna Cabrol

Ariadna Cabrol studied Drama at Meisner Technique with Javier Jalitó Cava in Barcelona and afterwards she moved to London in order to pursue her studies at "LISPA (London International School of Performing Arts)".

Ariadna made her film debut with JOVES by Carles Torras and Ramon Térmens. After working in several productions she played the lead, Eloïse, in Jesus Garay’s ELOISE LOVER’S.

She has been working in Spain and abroad in productions such as: CONEXAO, MARTINI IL VALENCIANO, LA STELLA DEI RE, PAINLESS, MIL CRETINS and HOUSE RED.

She has also worked in Hindi cinema in an iconic film ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA as Núria. Recently she can be seen in THE INNOCENT, for Netflix and she has been nominated for best actress at the British Independent Film Festival for SWEET STREET.

Mehdi Nebbou

Mehdi was born in Bayonne in France and started his career by appearing in the film My Sweet Home , directed by Filipos Tsitos .

In 2004, the director Samir Nasr offered him the leading role in the film Seeds of Doubt , which won the Golden Gate Award for best film at the San Francisco Film Festival.

2005 was a turning point in Nebbou's career thanks to the film Schläfer by German film director Benjamin Heisenberg. The film received excellent reviews and was selected for the 2005 Cannes Film Festival .

Mehdi has also played Ali Hassan Salameh in the Steven Spielberg blockbuster film Munich and his performance in Teresas Zimmer directed by German film director Constanze Knoche won him the best actor award at the First Steps Awards. Mehdi received great reviews for his performance in the 2012 Indian film English Vinglish.

Maaza Mengiste

Maaza Mengiste is a novelist and essayist. She is the author of the novel, The Shadow King, which is shortlisted for the 2020 Booker Prize, and was a 2020 LA Times Book Prize Fiction finalist. It was named best book of the year by the New York Times, NPR, Elle, Time, and more.

The Shadow King is now available in paperback and was called “a brilliant novel…compulsively readable” by Salman Rushdie.

She is the recipient of an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature, the Premio il ponte, and fellowships from the Fulbright Scholar Program, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Creative Capital.

A photojournalist currently based between Beirut and London, Adib Chowdhury was raised between the muted greens of the English countryside and the lush greens of Bangladesh's paddy-fields.

With a background in politics (MSc in international relations and Conflict Studies at the London School of Economics) his projects contain a heavy emphasis on research and giving agency to those photographed.

The themes of forced migration, identity, and how conflict shapes personal and societal identity are of special interest.

Tania Misra
From The Heart🧡

Looking at Tania's work, you would assume she has been a potter her whole life. The skillful mastery she exhibits - in particular, with her handcrafted flowers - is just incredible. However, before dedicating herself to ceramics, Tania worked as an Architect and Urban Designer. For many years, she designed townships as well as slum redevelopment projects around the world. After her decision to pursue her passion for ceramics, Tania began her training at NAFA studying under the esteemed Singaporean master potter, Lim Kim Hui.

In 2011, she traveled to Japan to study the intricate traditional art of flower making at the Tokyo Deco Clay Academy before going to France to study casting under renowned ceramicist Sasha Wardell. With this knowledge and exposure, Tania then opened her own studio in 2015.

Tania's unique background has helped her combine her techniques and design sensibilities to seamlessly intertwine both East and West to create designs that appeal to all walks of life. As a teacher, Tania encourages her students to follow their own path, to develop their own unique personal aesthetic and to express themselves through each piece they create. Padme Hum Studio and the unique work it produces is a testament to what can be achieved when you follow your passion and work from the heart.
