Last of the two-day Compassion project accommodated meal packs and bottled drinking water for men/women manning the checkpoints in Barangays East Awang, Balud, Hamorawon, Carmen, Trinidad, Cagsalaosao, Amampacang, Anislag, Palanas-Cara, and Begaho.

Recipients for the day included the PNP Forces in First Samar Mobile Group in Palanas Cara and PNP Force Multiplier - Community Service with Integrity (CSI-IG) - Calbayog City Chapter.

Day 1 of 2 days in the Project provided meal packs to checkpoints in Barangays Carayman, Bagacay, Rawis, Obrero, San Policarpo, Gadgaran, Dagum, Payahan, Central and West Awang.

Included in our list were CAPOSO Night Shift Force, headed by P/Capt. Antonio Sabenicio who was still at his office working with his men at past 7PM of April 17.

Significant in Barangays Gadgaran and Dagum is the active participation of respective SK Chairmen and SK Councilors to man the checkpoints.

Presence of Barangay Officials in the checkpoints were also noted.

(The project implementation was graced with the participation of a mother of one of the Rotarians who is currently on vacation to the Philippines. . . More details in a feature story when 2 days of the Project is completed.)

The Rotary Club of Greater Calbayog with the leadership of Club President Ligaya N. Bagsarsa (2019-2020), successfully conducted a bloodletting activity on February 14, 2020 at the University Clinic of Northwest Samar State University on February 14, 2020.

With the aim of helping the government in its endeavor to save lives by maintaining ready supply in hospital blood banks, the support of the the Samar Provincial Health Staff who came all the way from their mother station at Samar Provincial Capitol to give support and lend assistance in the collection from blood donors was significant to the activity of the Rotarians.

The PNP-Special Action Force (SAF) were the first group of volunteers/donors who came as early as 8:30 AM.

Forces from the PNP-Regional Mobile Force also signified support to the activity with several of them coming to the activity to donate blood.

Several of NWSSU employees and students also submitted themselves for blood donation.
