It's been awhile since I've posted, but I am still busy behind the scenes! I recently had a poem published in the summer edition of Island Writer. Thank you, Victoria Writers' Society for including my work in this fabulous and inspiring collection of local authors!

Now, I am off to Kythera (in my mind) to work on my second novel.

Easter is the biggest celebration in the orthodox calendar. In Greece, many people attend a mass that ends at midnight on Sunday, followed by feasting! This follows a period of fasting for Lent.

Happy Greek Independence Day!

March 25th commemorates the start of the Greek war of Independence in 1821, which eventually led to the establishment of the Greek state in 1829. Kythera (pictured below) became part of Greece in 1864. Crete, however, didn't join Greece until 1913.

We had such a great day at the Read Locally Book Fair last Saturday! Big thanks to Nataša Ćećez Sekulić for being the best table-mate I could ask for. And thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, book, bookmark, or notebook. We met so many lovely people, including some very talented and intriguing local authors and look forward to keeping in touch with everyone!

Did you know that today is Kathara Deftera (Clean Monday) in Greece? It's a national holiday marking the first day of Lent and is celebrated by flying kites and eating certain fasting foods, including shellfish and lagano bread.

Writing, just like reading, can transport you! I've been hidden away this weekend, working on a story set in this eerily beautiful spot that I visited back in 2015. Not far from this photo are some abandoned mining tunnels, and some very strange and remarkable things are unfolding in these caves...

Any guesses as to where this is? (Hint: of course it's in Greece.)
