Mohbad: I Stopped Being Part Of Marlian Music Since 2019 — Naira Marley's Former Associate, Gucci Branch

Abubakar Musa, aka Gucci Branch, an associate of Marlian Music Boss, Afeez Fashola aka Naira Marley, has cleared the air on the status of his relationship with the record label.

Marlian Music has been making headlines since last week, following the untimely death of a former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka MohBad, last Tuesday.

In an X post on Wednesday, Musa who has kept a low profile since 2019, following his arrest alongside Naira Marley; singer Omoniyi Raphael, aka Zlatan Ibile; fashion entrepreneur, Rahman Jago; and two others by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, resurfaced to deny affiliations with Marlian Music gang.

He said, "I heard they are searching for me, why are people searching for me?

"I ran for my life since 2019, I'm lowkey now.

"I am not part of the Marlians neither am I affiliated with Zlatan Ibile or Jago. I am on my own."

This is a before and after photo of Matthew Aderoju, aka DJ Splash, who at some point was one of Marlian Records' in-house DJs.

DJ Splash, also known as Ash Splash, a hustler from Ikotun, won DJ Consequence's DJ competition in 2020. In the months after, he was introduced to Naira Marley, who signed him to Marlian Records.

According to reports, DJ Splash was introduced to a different life after he moved into his label's HQ. He then started having mental issues and reached out to his family. He was subsequently sent away by the label after his family started asking questions.

When his mum came to pick him up from Marlian Music HQ, he was a shadow of his old self and reportedly had memory loss. He's since been home, unable to work.

He has become very desperate to become Governor and doesn’t mind carrying out a coup against me - Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state explains why he fell out with the state’s Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu

Sharing the reason for the fallout during a meeting with PDP members, Obaseki recalled how the Shaibu refused attending a meeting for selection of Commissioners, but instead travelled to Abuja.

The Edo state Governor said upon his return to the state and after the state house of assembly was inducted, Shaibu allegedly called APC chieftains, telling them that he has five PDP members that are loyal to him and who will work with APC state lawmakers to produce a speaker.

Obaseki who described this as a coup, said he convened a meeting with PDP members at his private apartment after being told of Shaibu’s alleged dealings.

He also disclosed that Shaibu tried barging into the meeting which wasn’t held at the state house, but was turned back because he now knows they don’t have a common interest.

Obaseki described Shaibu as a desperate man who can do anything to become Governor. He also accused him of lying in the affidavit filed before the court, to stop any impeachment proceedings against home.

Reckless driver crushes family of five to d£ath in Imo

A reckless driver reportedly driving against traffic has k!lled a family of five and their house help in Owerri, Imo State.

The incident occurred at Umudibia community, maternity junction, close to the Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Owerri on Sunday, August 5, 2023.

The family head identified as Arthur, alias Agwu Oti Aka, was a disabled Para-Badminton Silver Medalist. He was scheduled to represent Nigeria in a Disabled Badminton competition in the United States on August 14, 2023.

Arthur was riding a motorcycle with some of his children, while another two motorcycles carried his wife, house help, and other children when the accident occurred.

While Arthur, his wife and their 14-month-old child d!ed on the spot, his house help and two sons passed away later in an Owerri hospital.

A neighbour of the deceased family, Prince Mekoyor, who confirmed the tragic incident on Wednesday, August 9, revealed that the reckless driver believed to be intoxicated, swerved off his lane and struck the family.

“Arthur as I fondly called the deceased was living in the same house with me at Weathral till this last Sunday when he perished with his family. He has only one hand and was about to represent the country on Disabled Badminton competition in the USA on the 14th August 2023. He runs a restaurant at Polynek school junction,” he explained.

According to Mekoyor, the driver was not the owner of the RX 3:30 Lexus SUV but had borrowed the vehicle to withdraw money for a drink purchase at Holy Family junction Poly Nekede.

He recounted that the driver sped off to an ATM at the Master’s Energy fuel station on Aba Road in Owerri. On his return, the driver lost control of the vehicle’s steering at Maternity Junction Polynek and collided head-on with Arthur’s family.

“He was on top speed on his way back and he lost control of the steering at Maternity junction, Umuokoto on Polynek-Ihiagwa road. He ended up knocking down a man and the entire family of Arthur face to face. Arthur and his family were on their way home at 11:05pm whereas the suspect was heading back to the
