Hey peeps been a while! Ahead of tonight's Concrete Lates show following the new Devil's Pie doc on D'Angelo at the Southbank Centre I put together a tribute mix for The Vinyl Factory ...some words below on the connection, enjoy!

This ride with D’Angelo started back when my pre-teen self had just enough pocket money to buy the CD single of Brown Sugar. Sold. The voice, the production, The Face…I felt it. But like for so many of us, that cute lil crush turned into full blown obsession when Voodoo dropped, forgive me I was 16 and you sang to me topless! Then, many years of solitude living off those two albums and sporadic recordings. I was with you D - just tryna make it through my twenties!! Is aight to go off the rails sometimes! And hell, I can only imagine your reasons! And just like that, one day you popped back up…with the most prolific ode to your very own heart: never to betray it again. There I was in my early 30s connecting once more to your lyrics and delivery. Feet back on the ground. Unshaken. Your journey, my journey idk…just giving thanks for the music and know it’s been a pleasure growing up to you

Anyone who's been following her path knows she's got next level passion and a sparkle extraordinaire to match. Since we got introduced (thank u Ay) it’s felt like straight up kindred spirit type sisterhoodship and her recently giving me the push I needed by asking me to join her on 3 of her UK dates really sealed the deal.
