Fun fact: Monica Daggett and I met on Tinder. We were both lost when it came to love. Once we started talking, there were instant flames. Once we met in person, we knew we were meant to be. We said I love you to each other within a month, got engaged a year and a half later, and married about 2 and a half years in. She is my best friend, my flame, my soulmate, and one of my “whys” for life in general. When I told her I wanted to sell our house and live in an RV, she said “ok”. When I told her I want to travel, she said “me too”. When I asked if I was crazy, she said “Yes, but that is what I love about you!”.
Just two crazy lovers going on all the adventures we can.

Today I want to talk about my wellness journey. This first picture is me losing 90lbs about 6 years ago. See I thought being healthy meant I needed to lose all this weight by basically starving myself. I ate 1200 calories a day. I worked out every day. My whole goal was to lose weight. When I met my now wife, I stopped being so hard on myself and ended up gaining about 20 pounds. I thought I needed to work out more because I wasn’t going every day anymore. I joined Crossfit and it really opened my mind. I loved the workouts and I learned that I was starving myself. So I started reverse dieting. I gained about 10 pounds but this time, I was gaining muscle. I was very happy with my body at this time. I felt so good! Unfortunately, the crossfit gym I want to sold to new owners. I was also spiraling at my job and plummeted into depression. I had zero energy to work out. I still watched what I put into my body. I was also going through some grief because my mom passed away a couple of years before. The depression and anxiety weren’t getting better, so my counselor suggested that I go on some anti anxiety and antidepressant medication. This was about March of this year (2023). By this point I was trying to count calories, trying to find energy to go to the gym, and trying to find happiness, but I couldn’t keep the weight off. I gained another 15 pounds. I was up to about 180. That was a total of 45 pounds. Once I started on my medication, it took about a month to kick in. Since starting my medication in March I have felt so much better mentally, but I still can’t keep the weight off. I have gained about 25 pounds, bringing me to a total of 205 pounds. I know I need to be consistent. I know I need to regularly go to the gym and not give in to cravings. I do go to the gym and I watch what I eat. I count calories, while not starving myself. I know I just need to just do it more often. I looked it up and antidepressants can make it really hard to lose weight. I can’t believe how much my job compounded with everything else in my life got me to this point. This is why I NEED to get out of my 9-5. Thank you for reading my story.

I feel off the meditation wagon. Hell, I fell off the morning routine wagon. I have all the excuses. I got busy. I couldn’t sleep. I was tired. Work was a lot….. I also hate excuses. I tried this meditation podcast that is made by the same person that makes the sleep podcast I listen too. I love it! *side note* this was the first time I tried it, but it made me feel good and not like I was waiting for it to be over because I wanted to get to my tasks for the day. 10/10 recommend both of these podcasts.

We moved all weekend! While we are exhausted, we are excited for the next journey to begin.

This morning I am practicing being thankful and grateful where I am at in this journey.

I am so grateful to have a sister that will let us stay with her until we get our new camper.

I am grateful for my brother in law for getting the camper set up so we are very comfortable.

I am grateful to spend some time with my nephew because he really is the coolest.

I am grateful for the stability of my job that will allow us to buy a bigger/ nicer camper.

I am grateful for my accountability buddy for reminding me that small steps are still steps.

I am grateful for our cats making me feel at home in a different space.

There is really so much to be grateful for. 🙏🏼✨

It’s only 8:30am my time and I already have 3 wins.

1. I have an interview tomorrow for a remote job!!! It has been a struggle to even get an interview for a remote job so I’m so excited.

2. We are officially moving out this weekend!! Our camper isn’t done being fixed so we are moving into my sisters camper until it is done.

3. I am wearing a cute outfit today that makes me feel confident. I got my lashes taken off on Tuesday, so I’m getting used to that and letting my natural lashes grow. The outfit helps!

I am so excited for the turns my life is taking. Nothing but positive vibes ✨☀️🫶🏼

This book is blowing my mind. I finally understand what it means when it is said that the universe vibrates.

One of the things I love about traveling is being able to unplug from normal life. Another way I do that is to spend time in the forest. Camping gives me that breath of fresh air literally. Camper life is a perfect mix of camping, nature, and travel. I can’t wait. 🌲
