Throwback to four years ago, give or take a few hours. Paula picked me up from the airport and my adventure in China began!

It’s been a wild ride. So many things have happened and so many people have walked into my life. I’m so grateful for the journey I’ve had. I’ve no plans to leave, yet, but who knows what will happen in the near future except the Lord?

Celebrated my favorite Panda 🐼 Baby today!

For her, and only for her, did I go to the Great Wall once again.

This also served as a “See you soon, see you next time” as my beautiful friends will be leaving Beijing to begin the next chapter of their adventure together. It’s been such a blessing to get to know them and I pray that our paths will cross again!

Part 2

I've no clue what the future holds and whether or not I'll have children of my body or through adoption at some point. What I do know is that God has given me children now. I get to love on them and be loved on by them and it is truly a beautiful feeling.

Having my home filled with their jokes and laughter as my children eat whatever it is that I've cooked (and pack the rest up for later) makes my little island heart smile. Being called "mommy" or "mama" fills me with love (and a bit of annoyance sometimes when I'm tired) and if this is the only taste of it I get, the Lord owes me nothing.

Happy Belated Mother's Day to me!

This is how I spent it...dancing in the park.

Part 1

Being a mother has always been a dream of mine. If you've watched or listened to episode 4 of this season, you'd hear a bit of how much I desire it. It's something that has been strong enough to keep me up at night questioning the Lord. But, oh, how sweet to trust Him.

I've been called "Mama Shan" before, when I began to take on littles at Hampton University. I've been told, "Happy Mother's Day" before because of my nurturing nature. However, I don't think I fully embraced this version of motherhood until I moved to Beijing.

I've been to Chaoyang Park before, but I've certainly NEVER seen this side of it!
If you know me, you know that I don't like "outside" very much, so I rarely ever venture out. However, being the amazing friend that I ammmm, I had to venture out into the unknown, and this sight alone was such a beautiful reward.
