This week Lisa and Matt share their own dark journey through the valley of shadows when their 5️⃣th child had a massive brain hemorrhage just before birth.

They tell about the Dr.'s diagnosis of complete brain failure and that she would never know them . . . if she lived.

And how God brought hope to their hearts in the midst of the worst news.

Has life taken you to a dark place?

➡️ Where is your faith when you find yourself in the deepest valley?

➡️ When life gives you a trial so severe, you don't know what to do next?

➡️ God sees you and cares deeply.

This is the place where faith is tested.

To hear the rest of the podcast, follow the link in the bio to episode #29 titled "Will Your Faith Hold in Life's Worst Storm?"

If you're in the midst of a dark storm right now, reach out to Him who holds you in His Hands.

And type "Prayers" in the comments. We will join in lifting your unspoken situation up in prayer.

We have got to take an assessment of our daily schedule. The day is made up of choices that we are making. It is not 'happening' to us, it's a choice. Where is our priority in communing with the Lord our God?

Do you struggle to maintain a regular, consistent devotional life? We have good intentions but somehow, all those obligations and great opportunities manage to edge out meeting with God.

This week, we explore those things that keep us from pursuing God and meditating on His Word, why this happens so often to so many Christians, and what can be done to change.

Couples often have very different needs when it comes to s*x and if we're not careful, those differences can lead to feelings of neglect, on the one hand, or just being used, on the other. What should you do when your spouse's s*x drive is far different than yours? Matt and Lisa talk about practical ways you can approach the beautiful gift God has given to married couples.

Matt & Lisa talk about how to avoid drifting apart as life gets busy and we get distracted from what really matters. Are you as close and connected with your husband/wife as you want to be?

16/07/2020

Motherhood is beautiful . . . it’s also the hardest job in the world! And, while rewarding at times, it’s an endeavor designed to make even the most devoted, intelligent, hardworking, committed, efficient mom bone tired . . . so tired that as soon as she gets up from a nap, she could go right back to sleep. She’s not just physically tired. Her soul is weary. She’s emotionally spent and her spirit feels dry and brittle.

Can you identify with “the worn out mom”?

Family Vacation . . . logistics/relational nightmare or making beautiful memories?

For as long as we can remember, we've had two major family vacations - one at Christmas time and one in August. For many years, now, our older kids have made it a priority to come home for FV . . . which makes us happy!

Early on, decided to make these times a priority and, over the years, we've done just about every kind of vacation (okay, we haven't all gone skydiving, or the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, but that's not important right now)

This is the topic in our latest episode of Faithful Life podcast ---> https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/building-memories-tips-for-a-great-family-vacation/id1455150061?i=1000480331801

27/06/2020

No one plans on being bitter but, if we’re not careful, we can find ourselves dwelling on thoughts that lead us down that destructive path. Have you been tempted to “go there”? Are you there right now – bitter at your spouse, your kids, friends . . . Life . . . bitter against God?

Bitterness is subtle because it’s often based on real wounds inflicted by a person you trusted. You’re justified in your perspective and now you’re dwelling on those angry, hurt feelings.

God doesn’t want us to pretend those bad things haven’t happened but he doesn’t want us to live as a victim of those bad things, either. The deceit of bitterness is that the bitter person believes she is holding the offense in righteousness but, in truth, the bitterness has ahold of her, spreading its poison throughout her life and all her relationships.

Did you know when it comes to being tempted, God made you a winner? Matt teaches what the Bible says about having victory over temptation, every time, and what God did to make it possible for you to stand strong, no matter how intense the battle.

Build family relationships that last a lifetime!

We all have blue water coming over the bow in some way, at some point. Are you at that point right now?

Financial stress, relational troubles, sickness, uncertainty, physical trauma, . . . what is the nature of the storm you are facing? . . . and, how does God expect you to respond?

Is your faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ strong? Are you confident in God’s sovereignty and goodness? Are you walking in peace in the midst of the storm? Or, do you want to grab Jesus by the robe and shake him awake, trying to get him to pay attention to you and your situation?

Difficult times don’t strengthen your marriage. They reveal the strength of the marriage you have. Are you growing closer in these increasingly challenging days or more edgy, snippy, and harsh? What is coming to the surface in your marriage as the pressure mounts?

The Enemy has an intended use of these troubled times in your marriage. He’s out for destruction. God has an intended use of trials, too! Have you thought about how to guard your marriage and grow closer as you “shelter-in-place” while the world falls apart?

It’s easy for Christians to ignore what Jesus said about “little” children. Check and you’ll see he was talking about infants – babies. He was saying, “Let the babies come unto me.”

Only one problem . . . babies can’t walk. Babies don’t make decisions to come and go. Babies need to be carried.

“Don’t prevent the babies from being brought to me,” Jesus was saying. And He was making a profound point: Babies are never in the way of what God is doing in the world. Babies are what God is doing in the world, in fact, they are what heaven is all about.

Do you have Jesus’ values when it comes to babies . . . or do you agree with the disciples He rebuked publicly, who believed babies impede the things that matter, get in the way of life’s important priorities?

Fierce Marriage podcast hosts, Ryan and Selena Fredrick answer Matt's questions honestly and deeply about their ministry, marriage, and why every Christian couple should strive to have a "See-Through Marriage".

How transparent are you with your husband ... wife? Should you tell everything - even past sins? What impact does being fully known have on your life, marriage, and the ministry God has prepared for you to do?

Many wives feel they must be inadequate or are doing something wrong in bed because despite making themselves available to their husbands he keeps struggling with p**n/wandering eyes/lustful thoughts/s*xual discontent . . . etc., etc. It’s not just discouraging. It’s demoralizing and destructive, robbing the joy and sapping the life right out of marriage.

Maybe the answer is to try harder . . . so, you try harder . . . make yourself more available, but nothing works. The problem remains, gets worse even, until you just give up, altogether.

Is this the life God calls the Christian man to? A life of singing worship songs on Sunday peppered by repeated s*xual sin throughout the week?

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ~1 Corinthians 13

If only we were as loving as we give ourselves credit. If we’re not careful many of us are in danger of breaking our arms trying to pat ourselves on the back! And then, along comes 1 Corinthian’s 13, cutting through our pretensions like a hot knife through butter.

How loving are we, really? How close are we to God‘s standard of what true, selfless love is all about? It’s how God has called us to walk with each other.…

She’s strong, enterprising, capable, an excellent manager, savvy-in-business, and is a deeply loving wife, looking after the needs of her family. Everything she does makes people honor her husband. She is The Proverbs 31 Woman.

Are you married to one of those? If not, don’t tell yourself something’s wrong with your wife. Search for the nearest mirror, recognizing the gargantuan role you had in the wife and relationship you have today. (yes, it always takes two but . . . )

The record of the Proverbs 31 Woman isn’t some impossible fantasy to be scoffed at while joking about how amazing anyone could be with a few servants. Proverbs 31 is actually the description of a normal, godly, average marriage based on the principles, values, and instruction found in the Bible.
