My first time playing Bonk’s Adventure was in the early 1990s when I borrowed my friend Chris’s TurboGrafx-16. From the moment I powered up the console and saw Bonk’s quirky, expressive face on the screen, I was hooked. The vibrant levels and the unique headbutt mechanic were unlike anything I had experienced in other platformers. I spent countless hours exploring every nook and cranny, determined to uncover all the game’s secrets. It was an unforgettable experience that solidified my love for this charming, prehistoric adventure.

This game had a Metal Slug vibe for some odd reason. Released in 1989, Guerrilla War (known as Guevara in Japan) is a top-down run-and-gun arcade game developed and published by SNK. The game quickly found its way to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), where it became a beloved title among action game enthusiasts. Set against the backdrop of a revolutionary struggle, Guerril.......

Mighty Final Fight was developed and published by Capcom, a company renowned for its prolific output during the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. Known for iconic series such as Mega Man, Street Fighter, and Resident Evil, Capcom’s decision to bring Final Fight to the NES was a bold move considering the hardware limitations of the system compared to the arcade and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

Upon its release, Mighty Final Fight received positive reviews from both critics and players. Many appreciated the game’s unique art style, engaging gameplay, and the addition of RPG elements. While it didn’t achieve the same level of commercial success as its arcade and SNES counterparts, it has since gained a cult following among retro gamers.

A notable quote from John Dee, a member of the Retro Replay community, captures the sentiment of many fans:

“Mighty Final Fight is a hidden gem on the NES. It’s a perfect blend of familiar beat ’em up action with a fresh, playful twist. The RPG elements add a layer of strategy that keeps me coming back for more.” – John Dee, Retro Replay

Aybody else remember the original Road Rash soundtrack for the 3do? Did the ps one port get the same music? This was the first time I ever remember Main stream music in a video game and it created my love for sound garden. Still listening to them three decades later.

If these geniuses didn't buy the digital games five years ago they wouldn't be a thing right now. You can thank them and only them for destroying physical gaming. I'm not talking about indie games and such. These ppl are downloading AAA games. Blame them.

I owned a Sega Genesis. My cousins owned a SNES. I loved playing the mario and zelda titles, and DKC and Mario Kart were game changers. But outside of that? The Genesis blew it away in just about every department, but the most important was game speed. So many games were just slow and clunky on the SNES. I would go so far as to say NES titles were more fluid and responsive than many SNES titles. The Genesis truly did what Nintendo could not.

I don't usually show my kids odd or upsetting photos on the internet but I showed my son this photo of his favorite YouTube streamer. If he has to learn about transgenderism he'll learn 😳. I told my son that Chris left his son and wife to do this to himself. I told my kid he can't watch Mr beast anymore -- surprisingly he's cool with it. He understands. "Gross" my son says. And then he shouted "gaeeeeeeee". I told him that was not nice and to keep those thoughts in his head. Family first.
