Did she change her page? 🤭
❗️Yes. Yes, I did! ❗️
Like most moms right now I am taking on the task of teaching my kids from home this school year which means I've chosen to scale down my services a bit in order to be a mom AND A teacher.
I'm still here. I'm still helping clients. I'm just narrowing down my focus in order to better serve you AND my kids.

I love goals...in fact I'm a bit of a goal addict.
Are you?
There is something about taking an idea and breaking down tasks and steps to get that goal achieved that feels amazing!
If you want your small business to succeed- (which I'm sure you do) you need goals.
Even a small one. But you need something to shoot for. Something to measure your progress and show you your business in moving forward.
I challenge you to set ONE goal for your business page this week.

Hop over to your page and look at your last 3 posts.
How many of those are pushing your product?
How many are providing something of value to your ideal client/customer?
If you aren't providing something to the relationships you are building with your customers then they won't pay attention when you speak.
Likewise, if you are constantly cramming your offer down their throats...they likely won't stick around long.
What can you provide your page followers right now that they can take away feeling good about?
What is something you can provide of value?

I come from a family of woodworkers.
My first job was moving a pile of sawdust from one side of the room to the other with nothing but a spoon and a ziplock baggy...I was 4.
I made .5 cents for every baggy I hauled.
Now, being a mom, I know this was probably a tactic to keep me occupied and out of my parents' hair while they worked, but this was a pivotal moment in creating my drive to work hard and go after what I wanted.
The sawdust piles were big guys, and even bigger to a 4-year old. If 4-year old me could not be detoured by the obstacle in front of me than the adult me should be willing to stand up to my challenges now.

I'll give you a hint...It shouldn't be your mama.
No offense to anybody's mom, but unless she is your ideal customer she shouldn't be the only one engaging on your page.
While our moms and grandmas are a GREAT support, we want to attract customers to our page that will go out and attract likeminded customers back to our page.
We want followers who LOVE our product or service because they have used it, love it, and want to pass the word on to all their friends to buy it and love it too. .
TIP: If you don't have followers engaging with your page, take a look at your ideal customer.
Really break it down!
What are their likes and dislikes?
What types of other places do they hang out?
What groups are they in?
What are their pain points?
Visualize in your mind who they are and narrow it down.
I love THIS part of my job!

You have to have a WHY behind what you do in your business. Your WHY answers this question 👇🏻 and is the core of your momentum behind your business.

Example:

Okay, I know, I know. Don’t discredit me just yet. This is such a neglected tip that I don’t want you to pass by it!⁣⁣

The thing I love most about virtual assistants is that you don’t have to sell to your friends and family. If you’re selling leggings or candles online, then you’re likely trying to get your friends and family to buy things from you (and that just never felt good to me, personally).⁣⁣
⁣⁣
However, there IS something really important about letting your friends and family know what you’re doing.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Because referrals work! ⭐⭐⭐⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Many times, potential clients are right under our noses. Even if people don’t need your services right now, letting them know about your business is going to make you come to mind whenever they hear of somebody who needs a Virtual Assistant.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Maybe a landscaper will come to their house to do yard work, and that landscaper says, “Oh, I’m so overwhelmed. We have so many invoices, and I’m so sorry that I didn’t get back to you.”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Instantly, you’re going to come to mind! ⭐⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I’ve had several students think this approach doesn’t work. They reached out to 100 people and didn’t get one single bite. But two or even three weeks later, all of a sudden the referrals start coming in.⁣⁣

I highly recommend NOT skipping this step when it comes to your own business. Telling people about what you’re doing is really rewarding, so be sure you talk to friends and family first.⁣⁣

I Believe Every Mom Has A SKILL OR HOBBY They Can Transform Into A MONEY MAKING HOME-BASED BUSINESS!
Why Are YOU Building A Small Business?
One of the hardest areas I've ever had to grow in was switching from being a very self-sufficient, financially independent, "get out there and get it done-r" to a Stay-at-Home mom living on one income (which I wan't making by the way).
My husband and I decided when we had kids, I would stay home while he worked. Little did we know we would be getting exciting news just two months after we were married that we were going to have THIS guy!
(Isn't he cute)
The 5-years that followed his arrival were some of my hardest. We financially struggled, we gave up a lot, and my anxiety nearly defeated me. I knew I was capable of working to help bring in an income but I didn't want to go to work every day to turn around and give most of my income to day care and rob myself the joy of raising my kids.
It tore up my heart. Honestly it tore at my sanity too.
NOW I have more grace in my schedule, my kids are a little more self-sufficient, and I've found ways to use my experience in running small businesses to launch a business I LOVE!

NOW YOUR CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE ROLL'N IN...RIGHT...cricket🦗 cricket🦗
Anybody can toss together a page on Facebook, but building a page that converts to sales is a hole different bucket of worms.
Fish, if you will, don't usually come jumping into the fishermen's boat.
Here are elements to consider about your page if you aren't getting customers (or followers for that matter).

💥 THE POP! Does you page GRAB your audience and tell them exactly what to expect within 5 seconds of landing on your page?

☑️ TRUST- Are you building trust with your customer? Can they count on you to know your stuff, find an answer, and show up when you say you will? (just to name a few)

🚫 OVERSELLING...yes it's a thing. You can actually push potential sales away if all you are doing on your page is selling. A good rule of thumb is a 80/20 ratio. 80% serving your customer, 20% promoting your product.

😍 ENGAGEMENT- Get people talking...TO EACH OTHER! Facebook is all about community. Make sure you are creating opportunities for your followers to interact with you AND other followers. Ask questions, play a game, have them share about themselves!

DOES YOUR COVER MEASURE UP ON MOBILE?

You just spent an hour creating an amazing page cover, only to discover it looks like poo on your phone? The image is chopped off, your wording is out of place, and no one can identify what your business does!
While creating your cover, ALWAYS, AWAYS, ALWAYS test how it looks from your phone. 80% of all FB users view the platform from their phone, not a computer.
Quick tip: Create duplicates of your cover while in your designing software. Scale the graphics and text down on each copy, download all of them, then test each one out to see which one presents it's self best on both computer AND phone.
This saves you time having to go back and forth between your software and FB to adjust little bits at a time!
