Throwing something a little different out today to celebrate 50 years of hip hop sampling - a bit of a tribute track to J Dilla, Madlib, Nujabes and 9th Wonder and their use of sampling, jazz and off kilter drum swings that are still prevalent in music today 🥁👌🏻

‘I Should Have Said’ is a laidback soulful track, with a hip hop beat using a sample that I thought caught a bit of a Michael Jackson vibe when playing about with it - particularly the ‘I promise’ parts

Probably one of my favourite uses of a string section… ‘ - Porcelain’

Reversing the strings and sampling it to create the new chord progression ⏪ 🤯 awesome breakdown here from showing how it was done 👏🏼

That piano can’t be ignored either! Where the real genius lies 🎹👌🏻

Up there with one of my all time top summer chill out tracks, part in thanks to the film, The Beach 🏝️
