New characters coming in The Wayward Crown: the Androktons, an all-female army of fierce and disciplined warriors. Obviously inspired by the legend of the Amazons, but this will be a more brutal depiction than recent incarnations. War is savage, after all, and the Androktons aren't called the Merciless Victors for kicks. They fight in close-knit teams, using speed and skill to their advantage. Any male captives are disfigured in a torturous ritual they call a Carving. Part of the invading army from Bruallia, they will be a formidable force against the splintered Leodian forces.

"I am again willing to do so now. No matter what the cost. There is no one else who can."

I often compare Alaric to the character of Magneto in X-Men. Both are willing to do whatever it takes to protect their people, but they justify their actions in noble terms because they are heroes in their minds. They actually believe in their cause, which makes them even more dangerous.

One of our favorite characters!

How it started vs how it's going. Creating these concepts was cool because it really shows the evolution of Vigil's appearance from the first book to the second. I really love that universe and can't wait to get to book three!
