It pays to familiarise yourself with competition rules so you don’t get caught out by unexpected registration, substitution or disciplinary regulations.

You can view each competition’s rules by clicking Competitions > Competition > Overview > Rules

Did you know? You can instruct players to swap positions during matches.

Go to Tactics > Player and then click on the player you want to swap positions and select the player you wish them to interchange with.

Did you know? You can hover over a central player’s position to see if they have any preference regarding which side they are played on.

It’s important to take player traits into consideration when setting player roles and instructions.

Warning signs will appear next to instructions that aren’t compatible with a player’s traits.

For example, a wing-back that hugs the line isn’t likely to be comfortable being played as an inverted wing-back.

Did you know? You can save multiple team selections e.g. First XI and Cup XI and easily switch between them?

Go to Squad > Click the drop-down next to Quick Pick > Manage > Save Team Selection.

If you need a quick cash injection you can sell a transfer clause that may be due to your club in the future.

Go to Transfers > Clauses > In and look for the £ signs.

Use this sparingly as you will receive less money than if the clause is actually met.

Before attempting to sign a player it’s worth spending some time familiarising yourself with their injury history.

Don’t waste time negotiating only for the player’s medical to reveal they spend most of their time on the treatment table!
