Steven kept giving me crap because I had to take an exam on Father's Day— I was like, MY DUDE. Do you remember all those shifts you worked Mother's Day ?! 🤦🏻♀️
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, he was a champ and took care of the kids all weekend so I could study. I wouldn't have passed if I was juggling kids and breaking up bickers and tantrums.
This is how our life worked for many years. We skipped holidays, celebrated different days, he NEVER— no exaggeration- NEVER had a weekend off for five years in Texas. I love that he gets a swing shift and every other weekend home. That means 12 hour shifts BUT totally worth it (that's from him.. and me! 😉)
So today, we cheers to you with a blue popsicle. Love you. 🤍

Please help me understand how taking away funds helps the current climate we're dealing with? I'm genuinely asking because;
✨Healthy and supported departments have access to get ✨ B E T T E R Training, which helps make ✨B E T T E R Officers and ✨B E T T E R Departments. ✨
..Better community policing practices, better defensive tactic trainings, better continued education opportunities within the department (because law enforcement officers are required to do annual training courses, ETC.)
This is a misguided ideology and in the end, it will hurt everyone. We need to start finding a middle ground so we can move forward.

We're talking about the Officer involved shootings these past couple weeks. The two big ones, Adam Toledo (13 yr old H/M) and Ma'khai Bryant (16 yr B/F) were 💯 justified. It is so sad they died. But that's not the officers fault. And it didn't have to do with the color of their skin.
Daunte Wright, different situation all together. A mistake. A tragic mistake. That Officer messed up, and she knew it— Immediately. Is that an excuse? No.
Regardless of the situations, wrong is wrong. Let's not make excuses for wrong actions and behaviors.
Officer or Individual.

We were at Home Depot and our phones started beeping, notifying us of an oncoming Low blood sugar (side note, Steven uses the to monitor his blood glucose and we love it!!)
Anyway, he had some granola in his insulin bag, so he grabbed a handful while we kept shopping for bird feeders (yes, proud adult moment here 😂).
He may have felt horrible from the low blood sugar drop but he looked great in his shirt while fighting it.. and tolerated me taking a picture for this post. 😅 I really love that Steven is an Officer for his community, despite all the politics around his profession (which can really suck at times).
Thanks for making this thin blue line Demolitia shirt! We're a proud police family and we love and appreciate the support of our first responders! Steven was so excited to see a TBL Demo shirt he ordered TWO— both the same shirt, both his size. I was like, where's my shirt, bro?! 🤨😂🇺🇸 It's fine, it's fine. It makes a great sleep shirt, too!

I can only remember ✨ O N E. T I M E ✨in the last five years where we met for lunch when he was with APD. It was at the beginning of his career and we met at Chick-fil-A. Hudson and I stayed for an hour before we left (swipe to see our pic from then) because he couldn't get away to meet. A rookie police wife mistake LOL. Seasoned wives know better than to make plans when they're at work 🤣
The differences between metropolitan departments and our new department is crazy! I definitely want to make a vlog on the differences between Large police departments vs. Small police departments. So far, we are a week in with his lateral transfer and it's been a very smooth transition! So happy we moved back and I will say, the stress of working with a large department and the worry that follows me as his wife, is not as prevalent. It's still such a different vibe than his prior department, from training and how OK/TX do things differently (i.e., laws, statues, etc.) to running into the Chief everyday and knowing that he'll know everyone on a personal level on his squad and the overlapping shift. It's just really cool!
He hits the streets at the end of this week. Stay tuned for an update! The concern is still there for his safety (obviously) but I feel so much more relaxed knowing he's armed with his prior experience and city knowledge! @ Oklahoma

With that being said: Your department should compensate your time with shift diff pay. Yay!! Yay!? Yay?? . Well, let’s talk about shift diff and how it can cost you in the long term and how to avoid this mistake. . **Getting one thing clear** I’m not saying being on mids is a mistake. Because it’s not. Graveyard, C/D shift, mids/midnights- whatever you call it, is part of a functioning department and is a kickbutt shift because they do what a lot of people don’t want to do and they see A LOT of action. Some dudes love mids and prefer it to early mornings (*virtually doing a high-five to those Officers ( and their families)!*) . BUT sometimes it can’t be helped and I’m saying IF YOU DON’T PLAN ON BEING ON MIDS FOR THE ENTIRETY OF YOUR CAREER and YOU GET SHIFT DIFF this video is for you! Likewise, if you do a part time on the side (AKA not O.T./overtime) for or through your Department, the same thing can happen. S .
