How I Make My Own Lip Scrub 💋

Step 1: Pour two tablespoons of sugar, half a tablespoon of oil and one teaspoon of honey into a bowl.

Step 2: Mix together.

Step 3: Spoon into a small tin/jar. (I am reusing my jar).

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

As it is June, I thought I would share a little bit of my story in the hopes that it might help someone else out there.

First we need to travel back in time to the 27th of November 2018 - the day I officially came out as bisexual. It was probably one of the best days of my life. It was also one of the scariest days of my life. Coming out is sort of weird like that because despite the fact that I knew I had an incredibly supportive group of people around me, I was still petrified to come out. It was like I had a voice in the back of my head telling me that coming out was an awful idea to come out and everyone would hate me. I'm so glad that I ignored that voice though because I don't think I would be the person I am today if I had listened to it. It has changed me so much but it has also made me more myself than I ever was before. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for that.

How to be more eco friendly on your period 🩸

Let's talk about periods. Specifically, the amount of waste that they generate. Did you know that most menstrual pads contain up to 90% plastic? Not only this but they can take up to 1000 years to decompose. So with over 1.5 billion menstrual items flushed down Britain's loos each year, there's a lot of waste going around our earth because of those pesky periods. But what can we do about it?

Washable Pads:

Washable pads are an excellent alternative to regular, single use pads. All you have to do is rinse them in the sink and throw them in the wash. This means that they can be used again and again. Plus, I personally think they are a lot more comfortable and absorbent than regular pads too.

Menstrual Cups:

If you usually prefer tampons, then maybe menstrual cups are the option for you. Menstrual cups are made of medical-grade silicone, rubber, latex or elastomer meaning that they are flexible and durable (they can last up to 10 years!) The cups are pinched, folded in half and inserted similar to the way you would insert a tampon. They can then be washed after removal and reused again and again.

Cotton Pads:

While these pads are disposable rather than reusable, they can be ideal in emergencies and can be easier to change as they function just as regular pads. In addition, they don't contain chemicals or plastic, making them a much better alternative to regular pads.
