Calgary quarterback Jake Maier will look to author another strong performance when the Stampeders host the Edmonton Elks on Monday afternoon. The Elks (1-2) return to action against their provincial rival after a full-scale COVID-19 outbreak involving 13 of the team's players.

"COVID's depressing, tackle football's fun," quarterback Trevor Harris said, per the Edmonton Journal. "We're focused on the Labour Day Classic. We haven't got (to play in) it for two years, so we're excited and I'm sure you guys are, too."
