PAINTED DOORS KINK 🚪😈

So one of my favourite things about being in my homeowner and decoration era is that I can now paint doors fun colours. And for some reason I really find it SO SATISFYING, anyone else feel the same?

I mean . . .

A) they are quite easy to paint and usually the colour goes on so well and the change happens super quick
B) they look so sleek and slick and ‘finished’ and that’s just so satisfying to me
C) they make a room feel so cosy when you’re inside the room and the door is closed and it is painted an intentional colour - I really could go on!

I feel like painting doors (especially from unpainted) can be quite controversial, but I believe homes are made to be loved and lived in now, and these painted doors are just too beautiful! ❤️

I MEAN I WOULDN’T HAVE BELIEVED A GUIDE LIKE THIS WOULD EVER EXIST ON MY PAGE BUT HERE WE ARE!

It’s amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it, and this journey of mine in interiors and diy has been slow and steady, I am the epitome of ‘if I can do it, so can you!’. So swipe along with my 10 steps and you too could spruce up your home office or make a new place to store all your family paperwork and reminders by creating your own noticeboard! ❤️

THE CURTAINS ARE TOO SHORT! 😱⬅️

There is always something isn’t there? These curtains couldn’t have gone up and just fit perfectly could they? Ha ha. Even after all the travels they went on across the country in my suitcase 🤣 (go find that reel if you don’t know what I’m talking about!) when we’ve finally got them up they are the wrong length! 🙄

My lovely and talented mum made these curtains (and the matching frilly cushion that is the final image in the carousel) and we did the measurements TOGETHER but somehow they are still just that bit too short. These things happen and we are hoping to have a sewing party when she stays in October, make the most of the hem and sort them out together.

But until then - I’ll be acknowledging they are too short to everyone that comes over, as I won’t want them thinking I haven’t noticed ha ha. Have a swipe to see the beautiful fabric up close.

A MAN AND HIS SHED (the album) 🥹

*insert stereotypical jokes about men and their sheds here*

Although quite unusual for me to fit the laddy stereotype, maybe this time I have? Very proud of building this shed from a FLAT PACK KIT (see last pic to see all the parts it came in) - although full disclosure I did not build it alone but with the help of a couple of le****ns, and it still took me a couple of days! 🤣 In fact I ended up having to book a day off the day job to get it finished ha ha.

I thought you’d appreciate the sheer CAMP of me effectively having a photoshoot with said shed and looking proud as punch whilst doing so! 🤣❤️ You gotta be able to take the p**s out of yourself haven’t you!

DIY PROJECTS THAT EVEN I COULD DO (so you can too!)

My DIY career is very much still in its infancy and I still pay for experts to do quite a lot of the work for me, but despite never having used a power tool, and not wanting to do any projects which require complicated sums or anything too technical - I have done all of these things myself and I’m bloody proud of them! ❤️

The internet will have you believe that DIY - literally standing for do it yourself, has to be projects like building your own kitchen or adding a mezzanine to your living room, but all projects are a big achievement, and I highly recommend you give something a go - you’ll surprise yourself! 👏

PINK IS FOR EVERYONE 💕

Safe to say I am still super in love with my pink and red bedroom. When I say I have a pink bedroom, I’m not sure people think I mean THIS PINK, so I always love pulling my phone out and showing pictures to prove it.

I am desperate to change the carpets in here (and the whole of the upstairs and stairs) and I still feel like a few bits are missing, but I’ll get there eventually!

This is the room that makes me so proud that we went with our gut. Pink is a colour that I used to say I didn’t like, that I couldn’t be associated with because is pink is feminine and being feminine made me gay and I would do anything I could to try and distance myself from that.

LOOK AT ME NOW! Embracing and loving who you really are, really is the main thing! Why live in a home that isn’t truly YOU and doesn’t make you your happiest self? Stop wasting time and holding back - you’ll never regret living life fully! ❤️
