Thank you to all that made it out to and stuck around through the rain both nights for our band showcase weekend at the Westover Beergarden. The bands: The Delarcos, Mr. Media Disease, MF Grumbler and Don Zientara on Friday. Saturday night's weather reconstructed the lineup with Neuromantics, Mike Benish, Kromanauts and Swingamajig in that order. We'll be posting videos from this weekend here and elsewhere on social media. Check them out it was a great weekend of music, noise and fun.

DSI Archives/DSI Records band showcase weekend at the Westover Beergarden in Arlington VA is upon us. Friday June 30th 6-9pm and Saturday July 1st. Two nights of music, merch and mayhem at the beergarden all ages welcome, no cover charge.
Friday headliner is Inner Ear Studios chief Don Zientara accompanied by Truett Reed and Wilfredo Morales. Opening acts The Delarcos, Mr. Media Disease (Davis White) and MF Grumbler. Music starts at 6pm.
Saturday night welcomes back Kromanauts starting around 7:15pm with Mike Benish, Neuromantics and Swingamajig. Saturday music starts at 5pm until 9pm.
We will have merch available both nights including our new and current releases: Kromanauts 7", Justin Trawick ep, Nihilistics tribute ep, Marshall Keith cd, Luna Honey lp and cd and whatever vintage DSI Records and Archives stuff we have left. XU Shots will also be joining us and will have their Tshirts for sale including shirts of Don Zientara, United Mutation and more. Come hang out, have a drink and snack and meet the bands. The beergarden is an outdoor venue this event is on rain or shine

Cursed Earth, 1985 cassette compilation DSI Records tape #2 a split release with Test Site Records from Albuquerque NM. Originally compiled as a DC area release with a couple of Albu/NM bands added. John Hardin and the guys from Jerry's Kidz put together an Albuquerque scene side and released it with the cool cover art by RK Sloan and Jaime Trujillo.
DC side A: Exhumed Lunch, Spastic Rats, Malefice, Government Issue, Sangre de Puerco, United Mutation, Padded Cell, Hayseeds.
ANM side B: Jerry's Kidz, AKA, Wongs, Jet Girls, Bent.

Pudwak "Killer Happy" cassette, DSI #1&1/2 WGNS #8. I don't think I've ever seen the packaging for this before. Several of these tracks appeared on our Mutopia cassette comp. DSI tape #1 released in 1984, recorded live by Mike Clayberg at WMUC-FM (?) around 39 years ago. Most intriguing are the credits.

DSI Records/DSI Archives is hosting two nights of live music and fun at the Westover Beergarden in Arlington VA, August 12th 6-9pm with Don Zientara and Acoustic Anarchy & August 13th with Marshall Keith Kromanauts and Glue Factory 5-9pm. A band showcase weekend featuring some of our current bands, friends and relations. There will be additional guest performances each night, merch, sideshow, etc... This will be rain or shine so come on out and join the circus. No cover charge.

We've been busy doing inventory of everything, starting with 7" records. Looks like we have a lot less of the original DSI backstock than expected, most of the early releases are completely sold out, which is good and also kinda sad to see it gone. Lots of stuff we distributed back in the day will be for sale soon. Records from the then Western Europe, Australia and Asia. We also have extra jackets of most titles if someone needs one let us know and we'll try and dig one up for you... Will let y'all know once we get a handle on all of this, somewhere around 1000 plus items (approx 100 titles) LPs & CDs will be next.

Steve Garland left us this week, too soon.
A collaborator with DSI Archives for more than two decades as studio engineer & producer, video producer, camera man, live recording tech, performer, road crew, documentarian, etc...
He is the man responsible for the DSI Records You Tube page "dsirecords" (lots of related videos, check it out), he produced the Immoral Discipline Complete CD DSI Archives #2, filmed and recorded our DSI Records "Family Reunion" back in 2009 when we relaunched the label as "DSI Archives", and documented so many events we put on over the years.
He regularly recorded unknown bands at his "Happy House Studios" as well as dragging multi-track gear and video recorders to capture live performances by established bands like The Slickee Boys.
The clip below is outside Galaxy Hut in Arlington VA, I believe the band "Audio Explorations" from Florida was playing that night and the DSI gang were there. Members of United Mutation/Bullhead, Malefice, Sisters of Morrissey, and Chris from DC Spotlight/XU Shots and Audio Explorations are seen here.

Our record pressing plant in the late 1980s was "A&R Record & Tape" in Dallas Texas. They used our "Odd Man Out" compilation as a sample disc for customers. Not sure how many of these were pressed, we got a dozen or so of them and added the DSI stamp on one side and our address on the other.
