Tiamat the chaos dragon 🐉 is perceived as the personification of where all gods came from - the primordial sea 🌊. Her story is told in Enūma Eliš, a myth which credits the salt sea Tiamat and the sweet sea Abzu as the force that combined, create gods. Conflict arose between Abzu and Ea, the creator and protector of humanity, residing in the ocean under the earth 🗺️. After attempting to appease Abzu, Tiamat is eventually persuaded to avenge him. This leads to the ‘mother of all gods’ becoming the main antagonist of the myth. She formed an entire army ⚔️ of brutal monsters before her demise; Tiamat was defeated by the deity Marduk, splitting her in half and creating heaven and earth from her body 🌏.

Nasnas is the demi devil 😈 humanoid creature described in the 1,001 Nights as being quite literally ‘half human’. With half a face, one arm 💪🏼 and one leg, 🦵🏼 the mythical beast is believed to be the offspring of a human and Shiqq, an Arabian demon. He never speaks as he is missing half his vocal chords, and often manifests himself as an elderly beggar, pleading for help being carried over water 🌊. Once his victims agreed he would change form and drown them. One-handed beatings are another form of attack. In the Somali variant, Nasnas is capable of murder with a single touch; his victims becoming fleshless in an instant ☝🏼.
