Workin' a little Digital this week.
Getting back up and running after the PC Crash. Most software is running good on the laptop,
It was a bit of a challenge getting WinLink up and running, but after a few changes to the settings its a go.

Went to the Crossroads Hamfest this morning. Left with a bundle of Hamsticks and an Extra class license.

Built this 7 element 2m antenna about 2 weeks ago. Used it in the January vhf contest, running FT8 and only 12' off the ground.
34 contacts and 627 point. Farthest contact 495 miles. The real world front to back.... directed at other local ham +45, spin the antenna around and S8. SWR measures lower in the shack with 50' of rg8x.

Well I shoe horned it all in to the shack. The 940 is a great addition to the line up. I think I need a patch bay for hook radios to antennas.
Now, maybe I can devote more time to creating a good way to run the 991 mobile in the "Ham"bulance.

A kind gift frome the family of an SK, the 940s and maybe 15 pcs of vintage heathkit gear.
The transciever gets out, made contact with Hole in the Wall, Flying Goats, and RAMS all with decent signal reports. More pics to come after I make room for this beast.

Sooo.. Gentleman or pushover.
Recently working 7.180 MHz Calling CQ.. After having made 2 contacts, the band is starting to go long. I start to hear a station from Italy calling CQ. Do I Give the frequency over to the DX station or keep calling CQ..??.?.??.??

I've been collecting cheep to free parts for a while. Finally built a 20 meter raised vertical this past Saturday 7/9.
Put a bit of thought into it, and it paid off.
Not adjustments necessary, it worked right out of the gate.
Made a bunch of contacts that night during the contest, Europe and state side. Ran wspr the next day and seems to work great.
Might be a little to much to use as a portable for POTA... we'll see...

Seems that the HT and mobilinkd tnc3 is working pretty good this morning. Vhf propagation is up in our neck of the woods.

Learning more about APRS, SMSGTE is next, the ability to communicate with non-HAMs. This seems like a great way to stay connected in a situation w/o cell service. .
