🔶️ During a Saturday session on the Israeli aggression against Gaza, Iraqi lawmakers condemned the “brutal practices and crimes committed by the Zionist occupation forces against the Palestinian people,” according to a statement released after the session.

🔶️ The Iraqi legislators also called for efforts to “activate the League’s Charter considering that any attack on a member is an attack on the Arab countries, activate the Joint Arab Defense Treaty, and address the free world to stand by the Palestinian people, in addition to calling on the United Nations to prevent the killing and deportation of the Palestinian people.”

🇮🇱🇵🇸 It is obvious that Israel has driven itself into a rather difficult situation. Not starting a ground operation means showing weakness. After all, before this, so many threatening statements were made by Netanyahu and Galant. So it was all just hysteria, behind which there were dull emotions, a thirst for revenge mixed with confusion and unpreparedness for something like this?

To launch a ground operation runs the risk of drawing Iran and Hezbollah into the situation and turning the conflict into a full-fledged regional war, as stated in Tehran by the Iranian Foreign Minister, who these days is personally visiting all allies in the region.

🇫🇷 Emmanuel Macron is planning a referendum on migration signaling a major shift in policy for Paris.

After a dialogue with representatives of France's right-wing parties, Les Républicains (LR) and Rassemblent Nationale (RN), the French government announced plans to put up for debate a change in France's policy on the repatriation of first arrivals reaching French territory.

A government envoy stated that the "immigration problem" will be dealt with this autumn through a bill and a referendum with possible changes to the French Constitution which the LR and RN pushed for in the past.

LR leader, Eric Ciotti, wants a referendum on the proposed constitutional immigration law, while RN leader, Jordan Bardella, wants to have the referendum on immigration on the same day as the Europarliamentary elections in 2024.

As it stands now, French president, Emmanuel Macron, appears to have caved in on immigration, expected after the riots which shook France last summer.
