Something else for the weekend Part #2. When I started making electronic music again in 2020, this was one of the first songs I felt had potential, but I never got around to finishing it. Now I've committed to making a 2025 mix, as well as trying to clear the backlog of more than 300 tracks, here is the original 2020 instrumental.... channelling Avalon Beach from far away in the US:

A celebration of the vibe of Avalon Beach, north of Sydney, Australia. This is the first trance track I made, back in 2020, that showed potential, but I never got around to finishing it. Working on a

Went to a wedding celebration in South Africa, and the DJ was terrible, bad enough that we were dancing around a potted bush. Made this later, a big tongue-in-cheek, for the happy couple.

My present to Africa ❤️ Cape Town, Lagos, Accra, Dakar, Kinshasa, do the bush dance. Forget your worry, don't be in a hurry, do the bush dance! Inspired by a night dancing under the stars in the Easte

I loved being able to work with Grammy recognized songwriter Cliff Goldmacher, to write a theme song for my video series on creativity, using an approach he's developed to help businesses to innovate. An instrumental demo of the song is playing under the intro, thought you might enjoy it. Hopefully the finished song (and lyrics) will be out in next week or so.

You might have seen my post on SRH about experimenting with virtual environments for potential future Bliss events. I've also built a prototype for my business Total Life Complete, and a new series we'll be running called "How to be more creative in life + work". This is a teaser video for that, showing a working environment that you'll be able to join and interact with. Also featuring my original track Hold my hand feat. Jess HD. Saw this 1999 Joe Strummer snippet (around 7:45 in, as linked) late last year in a Glastonbury doco, and it really captured my imagination.

Got me thinking about the power of gathering...and my (our) part in that, in the past, and going forward too: how to get people together, to listen to music and dance, and open up their minds.

It seems we're today a lot further along down the track of "divide to conquer", materialism, and negative aspects of technology, whereas some of the things I liked about rave were freedom, unity and community... the diy spirit, the lack of materialism, no smartphones/being present even as you "escape", and optimism about technology...feeling how the dance and music would somehow change society for the better.

Keen to see how to use tech and music to bring people together in a fresh format, not only looking back to the past, but creating that vibe and that we need today.

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros live at the Glastonbury festival June 26th 1999, I have seen a few clips from this on YouTube, but not this 24 minute version...

Idea for this one came from reading a few books about UK free festival scene in the 1990's. This is something to be played outside at night, loud, with a bonfire! Originally was tough s**t, but gonna use that name for a different track I'm working on. Enjoy!

Heraldz - a signal that change is coming. I've been inspired (and driven) by everything that is happening right now to write a festival set of my own music, with new tracks and festival remixes of some existing demos etc. The idea is that at the least I can beam this music and message out around the world, and reach people. Also develop how this would work live at an in-person festival or performance.

This has been an interesting process so far, trying to reconcile my various projects/aliases: FYOP, DJ Brett Beetroot and work I do under my own name of Brett Cowell. It seems that both rock energy and electronic (and beats) can form a potent recipe for change, more than either individually, especially when we gather together to listen to and move to the music.

Here is a teaser for that...let me know what you think.

Track Listing:
1. Heraldz - Intro
2. Breathless - Interlude
3. Vertigo (Instrumental Version) - FYOP

What started as a 360 degree music visualizer test using the demo track "Bita Acid" I posted here 3 years ago, turned into an immersive art piece "Upper Icosphere" since the image and the piece seemed to somehow be a metaphor for life. I haven't tried on FB phone app yet, but you can use your cursor in web browser FB to scroll around the 360 degree video. Other best viewing experience so far is on YouTube app on phone, since you can physically move your phone to look around, or can look on a vr headset. Will post links below. Enjoy!

Something for the weekend. New track "mfs dance" channelling some old school rave energy! For some reason the new tracks get done in a few days or not at all.... this is track 268, plenty of others to finish. Let me know what you think. Turn it up!
