Girlfriends and boyfriends are not stepparents. If the two are not married, they are not LEGALLY obligated to any title or any duties pertaining to the partner’s children. Get your name on some bills, an asset, or get MARRIED if you want that privilege. Plus, if the CUSTODIAL parent or child does not consent to calling someone a “step,” the boundary should be respected. Children should not be forced to grow up in confusion or dysfunction. Lots of men switch out girlfriends faster than they switch out their briefs. So forcing a child to call a girlfriend/boyfriend anything other than that title is wild. Get a marriage license first. Because with no legal grounds, you don’t have any say over each other’s outside children.

What are you teaching your daughters? What are you teaching your sons?

Fellas, letting your daughters see you with several different women in a short span of time can be damaging. Imagine how that can play out for her when she is a teenager. Imagine how it looks through your children’s eyes.
