WHAT USO ABIA WILL DO....

Developing Abia State and bringing our state to be at par with other frontline states that contribute enormously to the essence of Nigeria is a key component of the Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah Agenda for Abia State.

As a result of the dearth in infrastructural facilities for almost 24 years since Nigeria's return to democracy and bottom line basis of human capacity development except for the sheer will of the average Abian to survive, there's a relentless need and insatiable yearning for improvement in the human developmental index of the people of Abia State and critical infrastructural revolution in the state.

Dr. Ogah is poised to serve as a catalyst that will cause a turn around in the negative occurrences that have bedeviled Abia State in several sectors. As a result of his antecedents which were influenced by several years of experience as a consummate financial expert, investment banker and an oil magnate, Uche Ogah maintains the best ability and utmost capacity more than any other contestant for the Abia State Government House to reposition Abia State commencing from Year 2023.

Uche Ogah on Abia Economy

"Our dear Abia State runs a mostly traditional economic system where most of what is obtainable in the local economy is derived mostly from the land as a result of our close-knit societal experience and rural disposition. This situation has hindered the advancement of Abia State and has curtailed meaningful progress in activating the full accruable benefits of technology in boosting the economy of the state.

The Nigerian economy oscillates between the market economy and command economy thus effectively conferring on our country the mixed economic system. We should completely implement the mixed market economic system within Abia State which would extricate the traditional economic system as is presently experienced and utterly leapfrog Abia State not only in the comity of states in Nigeria but as a powerhouse in subnational governments in the continent of Africa.

We are in a hurry to reposition Abia State in the proper pedestal of progressive states and reverse the several years of maladministration caused by past leadership bereft of ideas which continues to bedevil the state. Thus, my administration will proactively institute policies that will radically transform the economy of Abia State through concerted implementation of the best principles of the mixed economic system to ensure the unfettered advancement of private enterprise in their pursuit of value creation and equally cater to other segments of the emerging Abia society to ensure a healthy mix of unleashed millionaires with wealth through enterprise and aid to those requiring of it.

As we would be instituting a visible mixed economic system in the emerging Abia State, this would drive investors to flood Abia with their private equity to establish massive investments which would provide several job portfolios for our people to fill and ultimately lead to a bullish economy for our dear Abia State. This mixed economic system we are bringing to bear in Abia State will see government influence appropriately applied to the benefit of private and institutional investors while social safety nets will equally be guaranteed."

All is set for the reception of the Doyen of Abia Emancipation and the state has been set agog with the expected arrival of the man who has been ordained by God and mandated by the people of Abia to rescue their state and place her on a pedestal of recovery, sustainable development and advancement in the quality of life of the great people of Abia State.

As Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah is expected in Abia State on Wednesday, 16th November, 2022, he will touch down at Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, from where he'd travel through Umu Ikah to Isiala Ngwa junction then move ahead to Ubakala from where he'd access Abia Tower enroute to the Uche Sampson Ogah Campaign Office at 1 Item Street in Umuahia where he will address Abia professionals, technocrats, the business community, women, youth groups and party members.

Dr. Uche Ogah will visit a number of eminent personalities within the state, confer with Abians and intimate them on his lofty plans for the people and offer his audience an insight to what lies in stock for them from the very first day he is in office as their Governor.

Abians of goodwill are encouraged to come out in their numbers to give expression to their hope and joy by welcoming Dr. Ogah as he visits the state tomorrow 16th Nov.

Abia Redemption In Sight

Something is happening in Abia State. It is perceptible, audible, palpable and the people await with bated breath to that experience which will signpost a redirection from the odious and malodorous stench of bad governance to a glorious future of God's Own State. There's a groundswell of support to the idea whose time has come in Abia State with all eyes and attention fixed thereto. That idea is Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, the Doyen of Abia Rejoice.

That God's Own State has suffered debilitating privation at the instance of wicked leaders for the past 24 years is a well known fact. The menace of evil leaders in Abia State is indeed a painful reality that Ndi Abia have endured since Year 1999 and the people have had to pull themselves by their bootstraps while being consoled by God, their creator. Yet, the sad situation in Abia must be remedied as God in his infinite grace and mercy has imbued our people with the power to actively seek out and enthrone a worthy son of the state to redeem his people at this time for Abians to Rejoice.

Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah as a technocrat delivered verifiably humongous successes while in the financial services industry. Upon venturing into the stormy waters of entrepreneurship, he broke grounds and shattered records in the energy sector of Nigeria's economy with his energy city situated in Port-Harcourt and all in one stop center industrial cluster in Uturu Abia State which effectively places him as the largest private employer of labour in Abia State. His foray into partisan politics saw him rise immediately to become a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria where he led initiatives to change the narratives of Nigeria's solid minerals and mining sector.

Upon a cursory appraisal of the life of Dr. Ogah, it is evidently manifest that whatever he touches, turns to gold. Literally. Several instances of his success abound from the broad citations aforementioned to regular everyday dealings in which he is involved. Uche Ogah on Solid Minerals

"Abia State is blessed with abundant solid minerals which have not been adequately exploited for the greater good of the state. In different parts of our state, there are deposits of minerals which have been ascertained to be in commercial quantities and what this means is that mining companies can come into Abia State and set up their operations because what we have embedded in the lands of Abia State are sustainable and not just pockets of these resources.

In Umunneochi, there are commercial quantities of Kaolin deposits. You'd also find Kaolin in Isuikwuato, Arochukwu, Ikwuano, Ohafia and Umuahia South LGAs. Kaolin mining and processing can contribute to Abia State becoming a resource hub for everything paper, porcelains, pharmaceuticals, paint and so many other end products that require Kaolin as a primary ingredient.

Ewe in Arochukwu and some parts of Isuikwuato LGAs possess humongous deposits of limestone waiting for a serious government to package and invite core investors to come in for processing agreements. Limestone is used extensively in cement production and as it is a source of lime, it plays a necessary role in steel manufacturing, even water treatment and purification and also in plastic production.

Infact, there are enormous mineral resources that can be found in Abia State and all are in commercial quantities. In Abia State, we have Natural Gas, Gypsum, Laterite, Lead, Salt, Zinc, Granite, Shale Oil, Tar sand, Sharp sand, Copper, Iron Ore, Igneous rocks and several others.

Abia State is an oil producing state. In Owaza, Umuokwor, Umuorie and several other locales in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State, we have ongoing crude oil exploitation in full gear contributing to Nigeria's oil wealth. In Ukwa East and Ugwunagbo LGAs also in Abia State, we have crude oil in commercial quantities too.

Essentially, Abia State is too blessed to remain as it is today which is as a result of grossly inept leadership since 1999. I have served as a Minister and a member of the Federal Executive Council with co-responsibility in the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development and my service to Nigeria was of a stellar performance.

When supported with the mandate of the great people of Abia State to serve as their Governor come May 29, 2023, I will bring my expertise as a technocrat and my experience as a Minister in the solid minerals sector of the country to rapidly develop mineral resources in Abia State and create an attractive environment for investors from other parts of Nigeria and especially abroad to come in and partner with Abia State to achieve its full potential in the minerals and mining sector while creating wealth for all Abians."

Uche Ogah on Foreign Direct Investment & Remittances

"It is clear to keen observers of Nigeria's economic space that alot of financial resources circulating within the nation and contributing to its GDP emanates from inflows from Nigerians who are based abroad. Even with subsisting inflationary trends and other sociopolitical factors that have decimated foreign direct investments to Nigeria, remittances from Nigerians abroad continues to rise so much so that for Year 2022 alone, remittances to Nigeria from Nigerians abroad amounted to four times the value of foreign direct investment to Nigeria.

Essentially, what is required is the right leadership to create an enabling environment which will sustain foreign direct investment to Nigeria which ideally is the responsibility of the Federal government while what is required in Abia State is to strategically highlight our strengths and provide the best investment climate in Nigeria in order to absorb almost or just about every form of foreign direct investment that may come to Nigeria.

Again, a large number of Abians who are outside the sores of Nigeria are highly educated and entrepreneurial and they maintain regular contact with their families within the state and other parts of the country. Their foreign remittances contribute in sustaining those of their relatives back home and they deploy some of their funds to investments and other projects.

I've been a technocrat, a banker and now an entrepreneur with heavy investments in Abia State and in other parts of the country. My antecedents put me in a better stead to understand a great deal about the economy and how to develop it for massive benefits to maximum number of people. When Abians support me with their mandate and deliver me to serve as their governor, I possess the required experience to begin creating value for them from my first day in office.

I already have identified various nations in the world where Nigerians from Abia State and other parts of the country are engaging in high-level businesses and our administration will offer them the best climate to invest their resources. Having served as Minister in Nigeria's federal cabinet and managed the portfolio that cuts across solid minerals, steel and the development of mines, I have the requisite contacts globally and within the country in that economic sector that I will leverage on to bring development to Abia State.

When in office as Governor, by the will and determination of the indomitable people of Abia State, my administration will vehemently and consistently sway foreign direct investments coming into Nigeria to Abia State through the mechanism of roadshows in foreign countries, advertisment in foreign media and even on the sidelines of multilateral meetings while we also actively partner with Nigerians and Abians abroad to channel a fraction of their remittances to investments within Abia State through our State's investment promotion vehicle."

Uche Ogah on Local Security

"For a long while, our country Nigeria has experienced a myriad of security challenges in its various constituting states and this situation seems intractable. Abia State has had it's own share of security issues bordering largely on kidnapping for ransom, robbery, arson and several other vices. This sad situation ought not to be obtainable in a state like Abia.

It is imperative to realize that intelligence based approach remains the most plausible format for nipping insecurity in the bud before it becomes rampant in any environment instead of the reactionary system that has been in place in Abia State. Around the world and especially in developed climes, information-gathering and target acquisition based security systems have ensured infrastructure and economic development and when in office by the grace of God as Governor of Abia State, this is what I would implement as it is already captured in my action plan for the state.

There cannot be economic development if there is insecurity. The administration I will lead in Abia State will be in a hurry to institute reforms in all sectors as our state has been set back for more than twenty-four years and no time will be wasted in futile ventures.

Therefore, as my vision for Abia State is based mainly on economic rejuvenation, all factors that will contribute in achieving that primary aim will be immediately activated and chief of such factors is security of lives, properties and businesses of Abians.

In ensuring lasting security, the administration I will lead will be a step ahead of any category of those that may seek to constitute any form of nuisance or security challenge to the people of Abia State through the establishment of a bimodal intelligence gathering system which will be supported with a strategic weapons system to ensure complete eradication of insecurity in Abia State for the advancement of our state and her people.

When Abians would have offered us their mandate to govern and change the narrative in the state, my administration will offer the state a policing system which they will be proud to call their own and ofcourse Abia will be the most peaceful state in Nigeria with its attendant economic benefits to our people."
