We would like to take the time to recognize that this is taking place in May which is mental health awareness month. Mental health is the reason for the existence of Blackheart as both producer/actor Joseph Skorman and director/editor Andrew Lloyd Westhoff have both dealt with su***de in their families and the grieving process that comes from it. PANIC and Sharp Tools Productions are proud to announce our collaborative film project BLACKHEART has been officially selected for two categories at this year’s Venice Shorts Film Festival. We were accepted in the Experimental and Cinematography categories, the latter due to Andrew Lloyd Westhoff ‘s gorgeous camera work. We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to give BLACKHEART a chance to reach a wider audience. In these distressing times the themes of BLACKHEART, su***de, mental health, and depression, are more relevant than ever. Thank you to Venice Shorts and we look forward to seeing the rest of the competition.

Tonight Joseph Skorman ‘s high contrast, black and white , 80’s era music video 52Hz created for Chrysta Bell ’s latest album has been selected to screen at Drunken Film Fest Oakland . After being at the Fest’s events through the week we are extremely proud to have one of our projects selected. It is an amazingly curated festival. Very art forward. The Bay Area is lucky to have such a great example of high quality truly independent films being screened here in . Our video screens tonight at ELI'S MILE HIGH CLUB 7-9. It’s a free event. Come support your local artists and festival. The attendance has been full at most of these events. Come early to grab a good seat.

Due to the strong personal and emotional responses that both the director Andrew Lloyd Westhoff and producer Joseph Skorman have received, we have decided to upload our latest release, Blackheart, straight to Facebook, which has an autoplay function that makes it easier to share and spread what we think is a very important message. So, with the hopes of maximizing this conversation around men's health, mental health, depression, and grief we re-present to you Blackheart. This short film was released one week ago today to coincide with World Su***de Prevention Day ; with the hopes of shining a light on those are suicidal and the survivors of su***de. Sharp Tools Productions and PANIC are proud to present Blackheart. Blackheart is a motion picture poem that begins with one man’s journey from the chaos of an urban environment to the serenity of an isolated coast. It is there we discover the reason for this motorcycle rider’s quest.

Blackheart is about letting go of pain, moving on from it, and embracing the beauty of the present moment. Both director Andrew Westhoff, and producer/actor Joseph Skorman, are su***de survivors and this project is a meant as a light for those who are suicidal and for the ones they leave behind. We are releasing this film today, on World Su***de Prevention Day ; with the hopes of furthering the dialogue around mental health, grief, and su***de.

Here is the trailer for Sharp Tools Productions & PANIC's short film about one motorcyclists journey from the chaos of modernity to the sanctuary of the isolated mountainous coastline in an attempt to cope with his grief from the profound emptiness of loss. With this project we are attempting to open up a dialog about men's health, mental health, grief, and su***de as both of the director/DP Andrew Lloyd Westhoff and producer/writer Joseph Skorman are su***de survivors. Blackheart will be released in full on Tuesday September 10th 2019 to coinside with World Su***de Prevention Day ;. And remember always, you are not alone. This is a triptych of stills from Blackheart, the upcoming short film about grief and the zen of motorcycle riding from PANIC and Sharp Tools Productions. The goal of this film was not only to make something beautiful but also to broaden the dialog surrounding mental health and grief, especially among men. We are releasing the film next Tuesday, September 10th, to coincide with World Su***de Prevention Day ; as both director Andrew Lloyd Westhoff, and producer Joseph Skorman, are su***de survivors. Sharp Tools Productions and PANIC are very proud to present the poster for our short motion picture poem, BLACKHEART. Director Andrew Lloyd Westhoff and producer Joseph Skorman created this piece to shine a light on mental health and grief, with a focus on su***de. Both men are su***de survivors and the creation of this project has been quite personal to them. Joseph, who also stars in the film, lost his brother Sterling to su***de in 2015 and he has dedicated this project to him.

We are releasing BLACKHEART on World Su***de Prevention Day ; September 10th, with the hopes of furthering the dialog around mental health. This piece is meant as a light for those who are suicidal and for the survivors of su***de.

Here at Panic, we've had a very fortunate last couple of weeks. Our 52 Hz music video for Chrysta Bell had it's world premiere at the Lisbon & Sintra Film Festival. We also partnered with io9 for it's online release, and would like to give a very special thank you to Cheryl Eddie for the post. We would also like to take a second and recognize some of our team behind the scenes that made it all happen. We are proud to announce that a new music video collaboration between Joseph Skorman and Chrysta Bell , 52 Hz, is having it’s world premiere at this years Lisbon & Sintra Film Festival . Chrysta Bell is being interviewed about her work with David Lynch as well as the art involved in her music videos. She will be screening several of her videos, one of which is PANIC’s other collaboration with her, Night Ride, but the big news is, she will be unveiling her newest music video, 52 Hz created here at PANIC.
