Hey y'all! Episode 68 of We Saved You a Spot is live! I had the pleasure of interviewing my good friend, Robert Ellenwood! We met each other in high school competing against each other in Track and Field - We were both throwers! Robert is now a middle school civics teacher. Today's podcast highlights a lot of the local history of the St. Augustine/Jacksonville area. It was incredibly interesting! We hope that you enjoy! OK Hannah . . . I was wrong. Oops! 😅 The expression has NOTHING to do with Jimmy Carter! Here is where the expression “more money than Carter has pills” was derived from: “At one time, everyone knew Carter's Little Liver Pills because they were advertised widely. So widely, in fact, that it seemed Carter had an endless supply of pills—which is why the saying originated as “more than Carter has little liver pills.” - Barbi/Mom 🤗

Good Morning from the Florida Keys! Zane and I slept in our van last night on Marathon Key. Had a little bed made in the back. It’s mini lobster season this week. Can’t wait! - We went to a local bagel and coffee shop this morning. Made a little stop at a cute bait shop. Then, a farmers market! 90 degrees at 10:00 AM on Sugarloaf Key!

So many summertime adventures and so much to talk about! I visited Afton Villa Gardens today. They were first laid out in 1846. There was a beautiful mansion on this property that burned in 1963. The landscape was resurrected and restored. In the cemetery, there are tomb boxes, which it was said to have held the family silver during the Civil War. I was delighted to spot a little bride, getting her wedding pictures taken in the gardens while I was here today. St. Francisville, Louisiana. - Barbi

July topics will include: Mississippi’s Finest Soul Food - What fantastic food! All cooked by Miss Eleanor. Such a lovely lady. Then I met two pastors, one of whom was a Hall of Fame Track Athlete from the local university, Keith Barnes. And then Mr. Ray Coleman. Such encouraging folks. I was honored to have such a warm afternoon with great food! Yall have to stop through Port Gibson, Mississippi one of these days. Completely worth the drive! And… While I was sitting there, I heard them talking about Christian Miller who used to go to Freedom Way, Church with us when his parents Tori and Griffin used to go there! I told them what a fine young man he was and what a good family they had. And how much Zane and I admired Christian’s walk.
