EASTER SUNDAY
(Acts 10:34.37-43, Colossians 3:1-4, John 20:1-9)

TRUST IN GOD, NEVER LOSE HOPE!
Easter is an event of hope. It gives hope and assurance that God still cares about us regardless of what we go through. Therefore, with joy, we raise our voices to God to thank him for this great event of our Christian life which makes us see that despite our situation, God casts the rays of light into our lives to drive out darkness. The resurrection of Jesus teaches us that nothing can surpass the power of God. It does not matter how we feel closed up in some tomb, God, at an appointed time, will show us his glory by liberating us from that tomb. As we celebrate this Easter, Jesus is giving us a new beginning. Just as he defeats death, we too, by the grace of God, can rise above our difficulties as victors.
Jesus rose from the dead to demonstrate to us that nothing can stand against the will of God because he is a God of possibilities. Being disciples of today, who follow Christ until his crucifixion, you and I are witnesses to this power that has been demonstrated in his resurrection. Like the women, we have been to his tomb early in the morning. And so ours is to go back to others and announce what we have seen. Our lives should, therefore, glisten with hope in this world in which many of our brothers and sisters experience things that make them hopeless. The message that we carry to others is simply that we are no longer in the tomb of fear, loneliness, rejection, poverty, disease, joblessness, disease and so on because the resurrection of Jesus has liberated us from all this darkness. We are now children of the light for we have seen the great light of God.
Many people question the purpose of life because they have tried many things without yielding proper results. They feel locked up in a tomb of desperation and their resurrection doesn’t seem possible. They move around with their faces downcast. What is there to live for? This Easter is an opportunity for them to reawaken their faith and trust in God. He is still a God of possibilities and within the word “impossible” God says, “I’m possible” and this possibility has been manifested in the resurrection of Christ. When everyone else thought it was all over, God said it wasn’t. And so, by his might, he rolled away the stone. Death could not hold Jesus in the tomb anymore. And this is our hope. In the face of impossible realities, God can still show us that he can be trusted. When we stand strong in faith, even though life may seem impossible, we are standing right in the abundance of possibilities, because our God makes it all possible for us.
When you stand before God in humility, constantly presenting to him all your pains, fears, uncertainties and anxieties, you shall be like a tree planted in the desert. While everybody will believe that you have no life, God will make you flourish in that desert because in Him, grace abounds, and impossibilities become possibilities.
HAPPY EASTER! Alleluia, Alleluia!
