Here is a recap of 2023 which we started off with Stellar Sessions volume 2 followed by about a dozen singles, 2 albums by nowimalamp and deep shoq respectively, the lather which included a 10inch vinly cut and an EP by dream emulator. We welcomed several new faces to the label and also saw the return of familiar ones. On top of that, we hosted the final round of our beatmaker competition in collaboration with muti. Safe to say it was an eventful & busy year and while the batteries are recharging, we're ready for more.
S/O everybody who listened to our releases these past 365 days and all the producers, curators and label managers we exchange messages with on an (ir)regular basis, it's an important element that keeps us going. Let's see what the new year has in store.

The Iranian sing & song writer Pouria Motabean joins our roster with this calming piece entitled “I need you” – a story about a young couple hopelessly in love told by PM’s guitar chords and melodies 🎸💜
Pouria Motabean produces varies styles ranging from orchestral to ambient, lofi & pop. He is the founder of the band “Natoor” and has worked with famous Persian artists such as Andy Madadian, Babak Jahanbakhsh, Leila Forouhar, Fattaneh to name a few.

Moving more and more away from the traditional 'lofi' sound is this latest outing by the Swedish producer dream emulator called 'Thought Loops' ➿
The track has been built around the acid bass sound which is inspired by the bassline from Chameleon by Herbie Hancock. Later other elements and variations were added with Joel reveiling it's his favorite way of creating a track which probably has to do with his background as a bassplayer. Last year, Joel actually already had a version ready of this track and tested it during 2 DJ sets resulting in good reception from the audience. Though as it's part of dream emulator's upcoming EP dropping October 20th, the project was revisited and more elements were added to make it sound more complete.

Takesy is a multidisciplinary artist based in Japan and our latest signee. Besides curator and webdesigner for the recently established Japanolofi records, he also operates and writes for a Japanese music media outlet called `Good music & lifestyle` (goodmusiclifestyle.com). Takesy has a background as a composer for singers but started studying and producing lofi music around 2020 through familiar faces Kohei Yoshii and .
