Fork and Spoon Records Friends and Family Forever! Fork and Spoon came into existence out of a group of friends playing music together roughly around 2003.

In the years following they wrote, recorded, and shared their music with one another. After many self released albums from the collective, Jordan Blackmon, Chris Gardner, and Aaron Graves began discussing their shared desire to create an outlet for consistently releasing the music they believed in. In 2010 Fork and Spoon began operating as a record label. Fork and Spoon is based in Columbia, SC, a

nd strives to maintain a community mentality. It is our desire to continue our family-like relationship with all whom we collaborate.

Join us as we celebrate the memory and music of Aaron Graves. The surviving members of Those Lavender Whales - Graves’ wife, Jessica Bornick, and longtime friends Chris Gardner and Patrick Wall - will perform songs from the breadth of Graves’ songwriting catalog. Jordan Blackmon, who co-founded Fork & Spoon with Graves and Gardner, will round out the band. Throughout the evening, we’ll be joined by a coterie of family, friends and special guests to help us pay tribute to the memory and music of someone we loved dearly. The evening will begin with a potluck dinner and music will follow.

Check out this great interview with Phillipe of Caroline Guitar Company from Tone Report Weekly. Caroline is based in our home town of Columbia, SC and we are proud to have such great effects pedals made by such an amazing person in our community.

Damn. The Tone Report interviewed me, we started off talking about that Eagles documentary and then I simply could not shut up. I should never be in charge of any state secrets. Not only would I reveal them, I'd have to give my opinion about how stupid I think they are. Anyway, it's a good piece, there are cool photos of Those Lavender Whales among others, and the online version has my extended riffs on cloning, boring pedalboards, and how cool stuff in Columbia is actually super cool because of all the adversity. Dig?

Immersing myself in the Columbia music scene in the late 90's-early 2000's, "that weird guy that runs the music and video store," is legend. Not totally the good kind of legend... but not all bad either. RIP.

One morning last December, just before dawn, a 67-year-old man named Fred Arnold stepped into a crosswalk on Baseline Road and was immediately struck by...
