The City of Appleton will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for Lundgaard Park on July 24th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. This event will celebrate the opening of the new park dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of fallen Appleton Fire Department Driver/Engineer Mitch Lundgaard.

FVMPD Dog Bite Investigation

We are asking for the public’s assistance locating a dog involved in an unprovoked bite this afternoon in the Village of Kimberly. The incident took place at approximately 1:30p today near the intersection of E. First Street and S. Willow Street. The dog was described as being similar to a Collie, with long brown hair. There were no other distinguishing characteristics observed, but it was said to be running at large with another dog in the neighborhood.

Suspicious death Thursday night in Appleton

APPLETON POLICE INVESTIGATES SUSPICIOUS DEATH

(APPLETON, Wis., July 19, 2024)—The Appleton Police Department is currently investigating a suspicious death that occurred last night in the 2800 Block of North Park Drive Lane.
On 07/18/2024, At approximately 9:55 PM, Appleton police officers responded to a residence in the 2800 Block of North Park Drive Lane for an injured male. Lifesaving measures were immediately taken, but the male was deceased.
Investigators from The Appleton Police Department worked through the night and the investigation is ongoing. Any additional information will be released when we are able.

UPDATE: The sailboat has been located just south of Chambers Island, crews from U.S. Coast Guard Station Sturgeon Bay are currently on scene and towing the vessel to Fish Creek. The Coast Guard has not released any other details.

Authorities are continuing their search for a father and his two kids last seen Saturday on their sailboat.
