“Ladies, please don’t go through life trying to be as small, silent, accommodating, as convenient as possible. Speak your mind even if your voice shakes. Don’t subscribe to extreme forms of modesty, own your beauty, intelligence and energy. Be fierce and unapologetic, always.”

Nyashap Thiep is a poet and the author of ‘Poetic Scars’ a collection of poetry that focuses on her personal accounts of grief, wisdom, love, heartbreak, and other pressing issues to her personal life.

Nyashap focuses on expanding her writing to draw out and write about societal issues she personally experiences as a young woman born overseas and raised in Australia. The 18 year-old upcoming and published author recognises the importance of connection through grief and one’s personal experiences with grief, and the way in which other young people in particular, should appreciate connection in our society.

Nyashap’s writing journey began with an interest in philosophy and questioning the life we live around us; which ultimately led to writing about it and exploring in depth what others may miss. As this young writer aspires to do more for her community, she finds the courage to reach out to those who do not quite have the same voice and privilege that she has through self awareness.

Sleep with your children, hug each other while you can under the covers, do not be afraid of that addiction.

Children are small only once, then when they grow up they will find their way and their spaces.
Sleep heart against heart, so much so that you feel their breath, because there is nothing more beautiful than this.

Enjoy their childhood and their company, love them as if the world were going to end today because tomorrow they will have grown up and you will think that you lacked time to hug them.

You've outgrown the version of you that needed to survive. It's time to become the version of you that's here to thrive. Don't be afraid to start over. This time you're not starting from scratch. You're starting from experience. I hope to continue to inspire Women across the world from my story & testimony. We got this Queens Let’s Stand Together instead of Against Each Other.

Meet Achol Makuie, her friends and family describe her as kind, hardworking and determined but most importantly bubbly as she’s always smiling.

Being driven from a young age, she began working part-time whilst in high school. She then worked full-time whilst undertaking a Bachelor in Business with majors in Accounting and Finance.

Achol is currently in the process of launching a clothing label for tall women.

When she’s not busy grinding, you’ll find her spending time with her loved ones or taking time out to her self to recharge and rejuvenate.

In the pictures Achol was the MC during The South Sudanese International Women’s Day Conference in Melbourne (March 25, 2023)

If you are in your 20s, these 12 habits will help you build a remarkable life:

1. Go for knowledge. Read books. A sound and intelligent mind is your greatest asset.❤️

2. Invest in financial literacy.🙌🏿

3. Set clear goals in writing. There is no success without goals.👏🏿💓

4. Start investing in things that bring passive income. 😍

5. Be futuristic in your thinking. Value long term rewards and sustainability over instant gratification. Be willing to start small and grow big.🤴👑

6. Learn new skills. Add branding, sales and marketing to whatever skill you learn. These are relevant in every field.✅

7. Don’t abuse your health. Eat right, get adequate sleep and exercise.🖤

8. Stay away from hard drugs, smoking and alcohol.💙

9. Study habits of highly influential and successful people.💕💕💕

10. Build and maintain valuable relationships. Your greatest joys will come from your relationships.🤗✌️

11. Kill procrastination. ✨💫

12. Stay humble.❤️‍🩹

In all these, have faith in God and do not give up in the face of challenges.

Someone once said that where you seat in your old age depends on where you stood in your youth.

Stand on firm principles of character and discipline as a youth and you’ll reserve a seat for yourself at the tables of greatness in the years to come.

“As women, we are encouraged to tone down our ambition and wait for men to do everything because we are seen as the weaker gender. This needs to stop, and we have the power to end it.”
